It is just a short walk from the centre of the wonderful fishing port of Whitby, boasts off street parking and is adjacent to the owners home. The small but adequately equipped kitchen opens out onto the living/dining room on the ground floor. The twin bedroom and separate toilet are also at ground level. The master en-suite bedroom with shower cubicle is on the first floor.
The Annexe is located a 5-minute stroll into the town centre with its wonderful mix of amenities. These include many family friendly bars, restaurants, tea shops, ice cream parlours and a myriad of quaint shops and boutiques along the historic cobbled streets of the East Cliff. Popular with visitors all year round, Whitby is well-known for its long sandy beach, and delicious seafood that can be enjoyed whatever the weather. Climb the famous 199 steps to reach the ruins of Whitby Abbey which is said to have been the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s ’Count Dracula’. Its gothic splendour is the perfect place from which to take in the beautiful views over this popular seaside town. Whitby offers something for everyone, whether it’s getting away with the family for some seaside fun or long romantic walks along the coast, and dining in excellent restaurants and award winning fish and chip shops.
Whitby is also host to many festivals and events including the Goth Weekender, Steampunk and the Whitby Regatta. The surrounding coast and moors are packed with walks, routes and places to explore for all the family, from ancient abbeys to pirate coves and bays such as Robin Hood’s Bay, Staithes and Saltburn. The famous Cleveland Way snakes along the Yorkshire Heritage Coast with many hidden gems dotted along the way, and the North Yorks Moors National Park hides many amazing photo opportunities such as Falling Foss Waterfall and The Dalby National Park Visitors Centre. Further afield there is the traditional seaside resort of Scarborough with its regular live music events at the open air theatre, the theme parks of Lightwater Valley and Flamingo Land, as well as the medieval walled city of York with its Viking centre and National Railway Museum. Beach ¾ miles. Shop and pub ½ mile, restaurant 600 yards.
