Welcome Cottages

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

This holiday property is located just 1 mile away from Embleton Bay on the stunning Heritage Coast.

Set in the centre of Embleton, this stone-built, terraced holiday cottage is ideally located for exploring the magnificent Heritage Coast. Embleton Bay was once voted the most romantic bay in the north and this small village with pubs, village shop and children’s play park, is near some fantastic tourist spots. Craster is steeped in tradition and centred on the ‘picture-postcard’ harbour, where visitors should try the smoked Craster Kippers from the smokery (one of the oldest in England) or the local pub. The coastal path from the harbour along to Dunstanborough Castle is one of the prettiest walks in the county. Alnwick with its majestic castle and gardens, cobbled streets and abundance of eateries and pubs is 8 miles away and Seahouses, where boat trips to the Farne Islands and fabulous fish and chips can be enjoyed, just 7 miles away. Rothbury and Cragside Hall are just 19 miles away, and Holy Island is 26 miles (remember to check the tide times for crossing the causeway). Beach 1 mile. Shop 100 yards, pub and restaurant 300 yards.

Ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen with wooden floor. Separate toilet. First floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Electric pebble-effect fire in living room included. Gas central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot. Freeview TV. Gas hob. Electric oven. Microwave. Washer/dryer. Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. Wi-fi. Enclosed front sitting-out area. Parking (2 cars). No smoking.

Great accommodation. comfortable and good location. Only criticisms would be dog hair on sofa, very slippy rug on laminate flooring in sitting room and wobbly toilet seat.

We were in Northumberland for a photography trip for 4 days. Teal Cottage was perfect for us, it was cosy, spacious, well equipped and in the perfect location to get to all the Coastal Sites - wonderful.

Lovely cottage with nice welcoming touches (shortbread, dog treats and toiletries). Our only issue was the Wi-Fi wasn't working and 4G was extremely intermittent so we couldn't get online. Not the end of the world. Lovely local pub (Grey's Inn) with friendly welcome and top pub food at a good price. The hotel and other pub in the village were both closed. Embleton bay is beautiful and the cottage is well located to walk along the coast.

We had a lovely time In Embleton. Beautiful walks along the coast in both directions straight from the property to Newton By The Sea one way and to Dunstanburgh Castle and Craster the other way. The cottage had everything we needed and was in a perfect location. The only negatives were: the rug in the lounge was very stained and dirty looking - maybe it's time it was renewed. The double bed was very uncomfortable - it seemed to sag at the sides and so we always felt like we were sliding out of the bed - I think it's time for a new mattress. Other than that everything else was fine.
