This property is part of our Welcome Cottages collection

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

After a busy day spent exploring the Pembrokshire coast, curl up in front of the woodburner with a glass of wine or relax in the hot tub.

These beautifully renovated detached Welsh barns, Ty Llo (ref W43266) and Coal House (ref W43267), stand a few yards apart, and a small terraced row of three (300 yards from the barns), comprising Wyth-y-Nant (ref W42214) and Hawton (ref W41830), both end terraced properties, and Coeden Afal (ref W41764), the mid terraced property, are all situated on Carmarthen Bay in the coastal setting between Ferryside and Kidwelly. Tastefully decorated throughout, each bursts with character including original stone walls and beams. Close to the historic castle at Kidwelly and just a short drive to Carmarthen. Beaches at Ferryside, Pembrey and Llanstephan are all within easy driving distance. Enjoy a day at Fos Las racecourse, only a 15-minute drive. The holiday cottages provide an ideal location from which to enjoy the sandy beaches of Pembrokeshire and the Gower, the latter renowned for being Britain’s first AONB. Spend your days exploring the historic town of Laugharne, famously known for the iconic boathouse of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, and visit the castle and traditional Welsh pubs where fresh fish is always on the menu. Don’t miss a visit to the National Botanical Garden of Wales and Aberglasney Gardens. Golf, riding, fishing and water sports nearby. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 0.75 miles.

From arrival we found everything that we needed in the cottage. There was a welcome basket on arrival with tea and coffee. The cupboards were full of cleaning supplies and there was a days supply of firewood. Cottage was immaculate and the owner had gone to great lengths to make us feel welcome by putting little touches in place (Ie setting the dining table with Christmas crackers, putting extra toilet roll in the bathroom, providing extra towels and bedding). We had a teenager so it was a little remote for us, but it was out of season. Nothing going on around. The nearest pub was a drive away (as the lanes are too thin and dark to walk back). However the locals were all very friendly and it’s not too far from a dry ski slop, golf course Which we really enjoyed as a cheap day out. I would highly recommend this cottage.

Beautiful cottage. Very well equipped, clean and pretty.Boys loved the Welsh cakes on the welcome tray. Hot tub was great and they also loved the Horrible Histories books in the book collection. Bathroom could do with a bit of an update and include a shaver point. But otherwise absolutely loved it. The local beach wasn't great but could drive to lots of lovely ones. The road out of the cottages is not for the faint hearted though. All in all was a great holiday. Met John, the owner a couple of times, and he was lovely too.

Owners were very helpful when we had an issue with the hottub but was quickly fixed! Would recommended and definitely go again!
