This property is in a quiet location within easy walking distance of Portree, and is pet friendly. It is fairly well equipped, but sadly several things let it down. There are some inaccuracies in the photographs of the property, which were obviously taken some time ago. The garden is half the size shown on the photographs as the owners have recently fenced off a section to make a wildlife garden. Also, the garden furniture consists of 2 fold up camping chairs, not a table and bench as shown. The front garden was very overgrown, making access to the front door difficult, and there was an old boat parked on the drive, adding to the initial impression of a general lack of TLC. As other reviews state, the cottage is very dated, very cluttered and very, very dusty. There was a thick layer of dust everywhere, including on some of the kitchen utensils stored on the kitchen windowsill, meaning that I had to start cleaning as soon as we arrived. The cooker hood, coffee machine, storage containers etc also needed a good a clean, but I drew the line at doing those and just didn't use them. The electric heaters were very old, but seemed to work okay. The TV was different to the one in the photos, and was very small, making it difficult to see from the dining area. The Sky box was tuned into the London stations, so there was no local news or local weather forecasts. The property does not have a tumble drier. On the plus side, the towels and bedding provided were fresh and clean and of good quality, and the bed was very comfortable, so we slept well. The property is spacious, and the carpets were clean and seemed quite new. Good wifi. Lots of storage space in the bedrooms. Plenty of cutlery, crockery, glassware, pans etc. Great location. Good price. With some updating, clearing of clutter, better cleaning and maintenance this would be a great holiday home.

Had a lovely stay at the cottage. Ideal for dog owners as comfortable but not too fancy. Location is right beside a local woodland walk which was great for the dog. Garden is enclosed which was a benefit. The cottage is situated about 10 /15 minutes walk from Portree Harbourwhich has numerous eating places, all which were lovely.Would stay again as ticked all our boxes.

Perfect location for touring Skye. It was great to be able to walk into town when the weather wasn’t so good. Great, secure garden for the dog and a lovely place to walk him nearby. I would definitely stay there again.

The cottage is nice and well equipped. The owner was kind and helpful. Important for us: The parking place directly on the ground and shopping facilities nearby.

Great location, could do with de-cluttering & a bit of minor upgrading which would make a massive difference (would make house much less dusty)! Pics need updating eg. boat in parking area.
