For a quiet relaxing break this is great. Need a car to shop etc. But if you get all provisions in this is great Bungay is 10 mins away by car - with shops restaurants etc

Well appointed cottage, quiet and private. Lovely countryside in North Suffolk with plenty of nice pubs and restaurants.

Welcoming owners anxious to please. Peaceful location. Unusual cottage typical of the area but roomy downstairs with a large conservatory which also serves as a dining room. Good enclosed garden - one bedroom has a balcony which looks out onto a sizable pond with attractive water lilies and surround. Weather was exceptionally good - but if necessary the cottage has central heating and an extremely good kitchen newly installed - some equipment is to be found in unusual places! We really enjoyed our stay.

Our seventh stay at Swallows Nest was the best one yet! It's a beautifully decorated and cosy cottage in an incredibly peaceful pocket of rural Suffolk. Maggie and Eric are the perfect combination as they are absolutely lovely and would do anything to help you, whilst at the same time they leave you in complete privacy so you feel like the cottage is yours for the week! We have a greyhound who prefers quiet walks so it's ideal for him with picturesque routes in the local area and beach walks in Dunwich just a short drive away. Bungay is a lovely local town just a five minute drive away with great restaurants, shops and pubs and still maintains the feeling of a laid back village. A stay at Swallows Nest really does provide everything you could want for a relaxing time away from it all and there's so much to see and do nearby to satisfy a variety of interests. We will certainly be booking again for next year. Thank you Maggie and Eric!

Perfect base for exploring this part of Suffolk. Hosts friendly and attentive. Loved the rather quirky accommodation, but understand that owners have immanent plans to upgrade and refresh.

I was close to burn-out at work, and ran away here in a bitterly cold February with just my dog & my elderly mum. The cottage is a tasteful barn conversion, clever use of space, cosy, colourful, spotlessly clean & warm as toast. Maggie & Eric are perfect hosts, delightful to talk to, nothing is too much trouble but happy to leave you to enjoy yourselves without invading your privacy. Wonderful place for a dog owner, as there's a secure garden and DOZENS of walks, footpaths everywhere including one that starts just the other side of the road, by a round-towered church with nesting doves. The conservatory is a fantastic bonus: when the sun came out you could wear a t-shirt in there despite the vicious winter. There are plenty of places to explore by car, but the village is pretty remote by English standards, this is all farmland, so if you need lots of pubs & fine dining, do your research and be prepared to drive. But if you like to walk, and otherwise relax, curled up in quiet, cosy surroundings, this is the place for you. I will definitely go back.

We have been to Swallows nest 9 times now and love this gorgeous cottage. The surrounding areas are perfect for walking our 2 dogs and the hosts Maggie and Eric are lovely, nothing is too much trouble. Will be going back again next year
