Loved our Easter weekend getaway at Swallows Nest! Thanks to Eric and Maggie for making us feel so welcome and for keeping the property so warm and inviting. For us, the peace and quiet of the area was wonderful and allowed us to have a very relaxing time. You do need to drive to local shops or pubs but that was no issue for us and these amenities are not far away. We brought our dog along and enjoyed long, lazy walks around the nearby fields and paths. The property has a secure garden area in which we were able to let our dog roam, safe and sound. Overall, I’d heartily recommend Swallows Nest as a great getaway cottage that is dog friendly and located in a peaceful village. I look forward to returning in the near future.

We thoroughly enjoyed celebrating New Year's Eve at Swallows Nest. We particularly liked that the accommodation and ensuites were identical which was perfect for two couples who wanted equal space. The location and grounds around the cottage are beautiful. The cottage was lovely and clean, and well equiped. The only improvement we could suggest would be sliding doors for the ensuites, but this wouldn't stop us from returning. Thank you so much to the owners. We had a lovely time.

Modern kitchen, well enough equipped for us with good quality items. An interesting hunt for freezer (understairs) and washing machine (entrance lobby cupboard) but dishwasher is where you'd expect! Comfortable beds and lounge furniture. Both bedrooms en-suite, curtained off from bedroom rather than with a door. Location gives good access to South Norfolk - Norwich and it's 2 nearby NT properties, Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth - and northern part of Suffolk - Bungay and the other historic towns, Southwold, Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings. Not many craft centres or similar Christmas shopping opportunities though!! Owners very friendly and helpful, as was the neighbour I met while walking the dog one morning around the nearby fields - circular walks of varying lengths are possible. Very welcome bottle of bubbles awaiting us on arrival! Couple of words of warning though: the step between kitchen and conservatory is very deep if you have ambulatory difficulties although it is possible to get there without the step by walking around the outside! Also, the wall between the en-suites isn't sound-proof and, as it's a curtain rather than a door to the bedrooms they aren't either - couples beware!!!!

Welcoming owners anxious to please. Peaceful location. Unusual cottage typical of the area but roomy downstairs with a large conservatory which also serves as a dining room. Good enclosed garden - one bedroom has a balcony which looks out onto a sizable pond with attractive water lilies and surround. Weather was exceptionally good - but if necessary the cottage has central heating and an extremely good kitchen newly installed - some equipment is to be found in unusual places! We really enjoyed our stay.
