Lovely quiet location, good walks for dogs and not too far from old town. Lovely clean house.

Perfect for us as a couple with an energetic dog. Loved the garden. Loved the cottage conversion. Loved the location. Loved the walks, countryside and seascapes. If you don't have a car or enjoy walking this may not be to your liking but we really felt we were leaving 'home' on our last day. Would come back in a heartbeat.

A lovely cottage in a beautiful location, however cleanliness was lacking with lots of dust and cobwebs which was a shame

The cottage was located a couple of miles outside Shanklin. Too far to walk but many attractions and Shanklin town nearby (short drive). No amenities nearby but lovely and peaceful location. Cottage was lovely, clean and tidy and just what was advertised. Roads nearby didn't have footpaths so walking was a bit dangerous. Some public footpaths were overgrown, some not, but the Red Squirrel bike trail was just around the corner and was a good, safe, flat, 4 mile walk - ideal for dog walking. Cottage had everything - except a stair gate to prevent dog from going upstairs (which was requested). Cottage sleeps 5 (double + 3 singles). Would recommend.

Loved the cottage & surroundings. Great for someone who has a dog. However. Dissapointed with the clenliness. Thick Dust everywhere that was not easy to reach & some easy to reach ie top of fireplace minging. Also the bottom of tv stand dusty! Cobwebs in the corners of the kitchen floor. Table was dirty, lots of board games in the cupboards but none of them complete!! Please take them out! Liked the fact that the cottage had a dishwasher & dishwasher tablets available to use. BUT not even a tea bag or coffee or sugar there to welcolme us. Lovely site & property just could do with better cleaners.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; I am very pleased that you loved the location of the cottage. However I am less than happy that you felt so strongly about the standard of the cleaning. I have brought your review to the attention of my cleaners, however I should note here that I myself stayed in the property only two weeks before this guest arrived, and it was very clean. Even if it had not been thoroughly cleaned in the interim period, the extreme dust that this guest refers to could just not have accumulated in this period of time.As is our policy, should a guest feel that they have reason to complain, we offered to send the cleaners back in to rectify the issues, however this guest declined the offer.

Great cottage, lovely location. Much nicer than most rental places. A few things would make it perfect.

Despite being located a little out of the way and a drive to the local store, the cottage provided a great place to stay. It is nicely laid out and very well equipped. The main lounge is roomy and has comfortable sofas if you want to catch some TV (no Sky unfortunately). Kitchen is very well equipped and fully functional with plenty of clean crockery and glasses. Bedrooms are spacious and have plenty of cupboard space (we did struggle with a standard double bed when we are used to a Kingsize). Bathroom (upstairs) has really good shower and bath with endless hot water. Garden is fully enclosed so dogs can be let out without worrying that they may escape. The only let down was the weather..... we visit the IOW every September and this year was the first where it rained nearly every day of our stay. We will however be back.

Beautiful property, well equiped and very comfortable. The enclosed garden was ideal for keeping a dog and two young children safe.
