Swallow Barn is a beautifully presented, two bedroom end of terrace barn conversion quietly set in a small, picturesque village in the Caldbeck Fells in Cumbria, one of the most beautiful regions in the country. It is the most delightful property in which to spend time away from home with its cosy wood burner in the living room, the comfortable beds and modern bathrooms, not to mention the delightful garden to the rear, it really adds that little extra something to a holiday in the Lake District.

The peaceful village of Torpenhow is the ideal spot for exploring the area. The even quieter Northern Fells are on your doorstep with many walks, yet easily accessible for day trips are the popular tourist towns of Keswick, Cockermouth and the historic city of Carlisle. The famous Hadrian’s Wall is only a short drive as well as Dumfries and Galloway, the Scottish Borders and the Yorkshire Dales. Shop 1½ miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

Could have done with some j cloths for the kitchen and the bathrooms to keep them clean. Also some kindling for the first night would have been helpful. An improvement that would have suited us is a shelter for bikes, and something to lock them to.

Fantastic cottage, absolutely stunning and well kitted out. Peaceful location (car is a must). Would love to be able to take a well trained dog.

This is by far the best presented, cleanest cottage I have ever rented the quality and choice of the furnishings were beautiful. I would recommend this property to anyone.
