"Peace and tranquillity set amongst Yorkshire’s finest countryside and long stretches of magnificent beaches..."

"Peace and tranquillity set amongst Yorkshire’s finest countryside and long stretches of magnificent beaches..."

Steeped in history these former barn buildings have been lovingly restored using all of the original materials. Presented to a very high standard and offering spacious accommodation, each holiday cottage has its own enclosed garden and decked patio area for sole use, to while away the hours overlooking stunning paddocks where deer and foxes play. Guests have free use of the owners’ private indoor heated swimming pool, a communal games room and a children’s play area. The complex is surrounded by open countryside and a newly planted broad leaf woodland area, and is only four miles from the pretty village of Brandesburton. Oaklands wedding venue is situated in the 150 acres of woodland that surround the properties. Struncheon Hill Farm is a haven for those who enjoy having fun around water with a river, lake and pond nearby. Fishing, canal cruises and a Jet Ski and Diving School are less than half a mile from the door. Visitors will find locally an 18-hole golf course, horse riding, clay pigeon shooting, a parachute and gliding centre, and an RSPB bird sanctuary.

Just a short drive leads to the traditional seaside resorts of Bridlington, Scarborough and Filey with miles of Blue Flag sandy beaches, colourful promenades, inns and tea rooms in abundance, offering the perfect family day out. Walking and cycling tracks surround the cottages and there is easy access to the Yorkshire Wolds - one of Yorkshire’s best-kept secrets. Robin Hoods Bay is well worth a visit, where children will love the chance to search for fossils amongst the rock pools. For stunning views, Flamborough Head is a must and visitors will delight in the puffin colonies that cling to the cliff side. For an alternative day trip, York will not disappoint and meandering along the cobbled streets of ‘The Shambles’, packed with curio and antique shops, as well as many museums including The National Railway Museum and Jorvik Viking Centre will keep both adults and children alike amused for hours.
Explore British heritage when visiting stately homes and halls such as Burton Agnes Hall with its large collection of Monet and Renoir paintings, or Sledmere Hall with its beautiful gardens only a 30-minute drive away. The attractive market town of Beverley 12 miles away, where visitors can enjoy ancient cobbled streets, quaint shops and friendly local people, completes the area of peace and tranquility surrounding Struncheon Hill Farm. Shops, pub and restaurant 4 miles.

Four Bays (IOH), River View (IOJ), Broad Leaf (IOK), Woodlands (IOL) and Meadow View (IOM) can be booked together to accommodate up to 30 guests.

This barn conversion lacked love and attention It had the potential to be lovely but the owners seemed too busy building another annexe for 22 people to bother making sure it was just right Little things like the tv remote was held together with black tape and didn’t work properly The dvd remote had no batteries The leaflets for days out were 2 years out of date The property was nice and clean but lacked proper water pressure for showers and baths with just a slow dribble coming out of the taps at times The curtains were coming off the rings The rug in the lounge area was shabby The games room was good except for such a big space there was only 2 snooker cues available and one was wonky and cracked Such a shame Will not be returning

We loved this property and had a great time with 5 adults and a 2 year old. The site is perfect with great area for dog to run around, fantastic play area and the pool was just beautiful. We loved the fact the pool did not have to be booked (but still had it to ourselves) and did not incur any additional charge. The cottage was lovely with nice clean bedding and towels. Only downside is the ‘shower over bath’ is just handheld with no curtain so not ideal for a proper shower... therefore with 8 adults may be difficult. Be aware there is no WiFi and very little 4G so limited internet access if this is an issue for you. Overall great stay.

Great holiday at Riverview, lovely place with a gorgeous pool. The house was clean and well equipped, although there was no wifi and one of the TV's didn't work, in some ways this was nice :) Our family had a lovely base with plenty of time in the pool and children's play area when it wasn't raining!

This is by far one of the best holiday cottages I we have stayed in .No problem for me but the younger ones in our party did miss wi-fi.

The house was spacious & well equipped. There was no problem in fitting all 8 of us in. The shared pool was great for the kids. The little climbing frame area & field were also really useful for keeping children occupied. Despite sharing the site with 3 or 4 other properties, it felt private & quiet. It was reached via a long narrow road from the nearest village (4 miles?) where the nearest limited local amenities were but the area itself was wonderful with loads to see & do within half/one hours drive. We has a great family holiday there & would recommend it to others.
