This property is part of our Welcome Cottages collection

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

This property is located in Brandesburton, and is part of a complex, which has its own enclosed garden and decked patio area.

"Peace and tranquillity set amongst Yorkshire’s finest countryside and long stretches of magnificent beaches..."

Steeped in history these former barn buildings have been lovingly restored using all of the original materials. Presented to a very high standard and offering spacious accommodation, each holiday cottage has its own enclosed garden for sole use, to while away the hours overlooking stunning paddocks where deer and foxes play. Guests have free use of the owners’ private indoor heated swimming pool, a communal games room and a children’s play area. The complex is surrounded by open countryside and a newly planted broad leaf woodland area, and is only four miles from the pretty village of Brandesburton. Oaklands wedding venue is situated in the 150 acres of woodland that surround the properties. Struncheon Hill Farm is a haven for those who enjoy having fun around water with a river, lake and pond nearby. Fishing, canal cruises and a Jet Ski and Diving School are less than half a mile from the door. Visitors will find locally an 18-hole golf course, horse riding, clay pigeon shooting, a parachute and gliding centre, and an RSPB bird sanctuary.

Just a short drive leads to the traditional seaside resorts of Bridlington, Scarborough and Filey with miles of Blue Flag sandy beaches, colourful promenades, inns and tea rooms in abundance, offering the perfect family day out. Walking and cycling tracks surround the cottages and there is easy access to the Yorkshire Wolds - one of Yorkshire’s best-kept secrets. Robin Hoods Bay is well worth a visit, where children will love the chance to search for fossils amongst the rock pools. For stunning views, Flamborough Head is a must and visitors will delight in the puffin colonies that cling to the cliff side. For an alternative day trip, York will not disappoint and meandering along the cobbled streets of ‘The Shambles’, packed with curio and antique shops, as well as many museums including The National Railway Museum and Jorvik Viking Centre will keep both adults and children alike amused for hours. Explore British heritage when visiting stately homes and halls such as Burton Agnes Hall with its large collection of Monet and Renoir paintings, or Sledmere Hall with its beautiful gardens only a 30-minute drive away. The attractive market town of Beverley 12 miles away, where visitors can enjoy ancient cobbled streets, quaint shops and friendly local people, completes the area of peace and tranquility surrounding Struncheon Hill Farm. Shops, pub and restaurant 4 miles.

Four Bays (IOH), River View (IOJ), Broad Leaf (IOK), Woodlands (IOL), Meadow View (IOM) and The Loft (UKC2652) can be booked together to accommodate up to 50 guests.

This is our second short break at Four Bays. It is ideal for a family group as there is the lovely swimming pool and games room on site with enjoyable river walks nearby.

We stayed at Four Bays for New Year, we were 2 families consisting of 2 teenagers, a 4 yr old and 4 adults, the house was fantastic, the owners had provided everything we could possibly need and the little welcome pack was a lovely touch. The house was spotless and plenty big enough for the 7 of us. Our private games room was fantastic and we liked the fac that the garden area was enclosed, perfect for our little dog to wander around in before we took him for a walk. The pool was lovely, just big enough for our children to enjoy and was never over crowded, we went into the games room for an hour one night too, which we could not fault. There isn't much in the immediate area, Beverley was lovely though and plenty there to do, we also drove out to Bridlington to find some where to eat on New Years Day but we were not successful! The teenagers were not happy about the lack of wifi at the house, but it certainly isn't a reason not to book! All in all a fantastic New Year break in a gorgeous house, thank you very much.

We were 3 generations and a dog staying for 6 days over the Xmas period. One word magical. No one wanted to come home. The cottage was warm, practical and spacious and the pool and games room ensured everyone enjoyed themselves either participating or watching from the sidelines. Will definitely book again.

We had a great family holiday at Four Bays and everybody in our party thoroughly enjoyed their stay, especially the dog with the paddock for daily exercise and beautiful surrounding countryside. Quiet, picturesque location with lovely river walks, dingy escapes and stargazing!!! The cottage is well equipped, spacious and comfortable and the owners are lovely and helpful. The swimming pool is fantastic and we made good use of it daily. Flamborough Head is stunning and Beverley is very quaint. Plenty of pubs and cafés to visit that will accommodate dogs. A BBQ would have been a plus!

We had a great holiday at four bays it was equipt with everything we needed and was close to a lovely village with 2 pubs, chip shop and a Chinese. The only complaint was the curtains where to thin so the kids where up a sunlight all week ! 5am !! We still had a great time the pool was fab and would come back.
