The Cairngorm Reindeer Centre, the Highland Wildlife Park and Scotland’s National Outdoor Centre at Glenmore Lodge are all within easy reach. Aviemore, the year round outdoor hub of the Cairngorms, is only 15 minutes away at the head of the Speyside Way.
Only 2 miles away is the village of Carrbridge with its historic packhorse bridge. Here you can enjoy a fun-filled day out for all ages at the Landmark Forest Adventure Park, or soak up the Highland atmosphere at the local pub or cafe. Pick up essentials or find an array of locally made gifts and crafts at one of Carrbridge’s various shops and galleries. Just a mile up the road from Strathspey Lodge is the well regarded MacDonald Country Club, which welcomes visitors to use both its leisure and dining facilities.
The area is blessed with numerous stunning golf courses including Spey Valley, Boat of Garten, Grantown on Spey and Carrbridge. Further afield, world famous courses such as Nairn, Royal Dornoch and Castle Stuart Golf Course are all accessible for a day trip. From Strathspey Lodge, visit Loch Ness, the beautiful west coast, the Isle of Skye or the Orkney Islands. The Moray Firth coastline is peppered with little fishing villages and beautiful beaches, where you may catch sight of their famous bottlenose dolphins - this area was voted in the ‘top 20 best coastline destinations in the world’. Also in Moray, you can visit whisky distilleries on the malt Whisky Trail – the only one of its kind! A great family holiday was had by all. Beautiful house with well designed layout, large clean rooms and well equipped to a high standard. Some lovely walks in the vicinity and beautiful views from the main sitting room. During the frosty days the house remained warm and comfortable. Quirky decoration and appreciated meeting the TV star" fire pit robot".

Amazing property with lots of space with a perfect location to drive for walks. There not any good local walks for keen hikers. We did experience a strange heating issue, which was rectified 1 day after arriving after a small battle with the management team, it was off and it was located behind a locked cupboard. Previous guests have experienced issues with the heating. I would have expected slightly more based on the price but cannot fault the location and views.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for the feedback and we're very glad you liked the lodge and the space it has to offer. We're sorry that there was an initial problem with the heating. We've been in touch with our housekeeper and are satisfied they dealt with it appropriately, with a plumber responding asap the following day. Unfortunately in the Highlands there is pressure on these trades during the peak times. In terms of the heating itself, it is a brand new system that was installed when the house was completed in 2017. We had an airlock at the early stage which was shortly resolved and the system has subsequently operated efficiently and well. Our pricing is set by Cottages.com who have thousands of properties on their system and compare each new holiday house with others already on their books. Since the lodge was launched we have had an under-stairs library / snug installed although the rates have not been increased to reflect these improvements. We do understand your comment, however, with your booking comprising of a couple +2 kids in a lodge that sleeps 8+2, then it will seem more expensive than a smaller property. There are a network of trails and paths 2 miles down the road in Carrbridge where hikers can also grab a pint in the local pub afterwards to quench their thirst. It is a great watering hole. Thanks again for your stay and we hope to see you again in the future.

Lovely modern house equipped with everything needed and more. Comfortable beds and bedding and plenty of space for 6 adults, a 4 year old and 2 babies. Huge master suite on lower ground floor, 2 floors away from rest of bedrooms, a big plus for the grandparents! A few miles from amenities, but we know the area quite well and knew what to expect. If planning a big family group trip again, then definitely somewhere we’d think about coming back to.
