Conveniently located close to Thirsk, this single-storey holiday cottage is well presented and enjoys a private garden overlooking the owners’ grounds. Formerly a stable, the cottage now provides an extremely comfortable base from which to explore the surrounding area. Thirsk is a delightful market town, renowned for its connections with the famous vet and author Alf Wight, and the James Herriot museum, which covers the life and books of the author, and displays sets from the ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ television series. The cobbled square is surrounded by numerous tea rooms, independent shops and street markets. The town boasts a 15th Century church and a renowned racecourse. Located between the stunning North Yorkshire Moors and the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, visitors can choose from numerous attractions including Fountains Abbey, Newby Hall and Castle Howard. There are abbey ruins at Rievaulx and Byland, and theme parks at Flamingo Land and Lightwater Valley provide fun for all the family. The ancient city of York is easily accessible and fascinates all ages, with exquisite architecture, iconic minster, museums, art galleries, festivals and river boat trips. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant 165 yards.

    This a very good property the owner are fantastic very help full and the pub only 200 hundred meters down the road thirsk 2 kilometres bus stop across the road it that good I am going back in September

    In general not bad,living room a little small would not like to have four adults in it.The bathroom was a little smelly,but the shower was brilliant.

    An excellent central base to explore the delights of North Yorkshire. Stable Cottage is situated minutes from the centre of Thirsk. The owner is very friendly and helpful and the accommodation was very clean and modern. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking to book a holiday in North Yorkshire.
