Lovely unique property surrounded by glorious countryside. Easy access to walks across the mountains and local shops and towns nearby. We were a family group ranging from 80 to 2 years old and had a fabulous week here.

Absolutely charming holiday stay. It’s a great place to spend time with family and still have a sense of space . St Albans Church was clean and warm . A few issues with water pressure, but I think when your with family you just make the best of being together . Would I stay again ….definitely.

If you like walking it is in a perfect location, the local Chinese was also very nice. Not really any restaurants close by, the ones recommended by the owner were more drinking pubs for evenings so was disappointing for going out to eat. It is a lovely church but is looking rather tired inside such as unfinished painting and scuffs on the walls and could do with a freshen up. The carpet upstairs also needs replacing as there is a gap where it is supposed to join, and also in one of the double rooms, there is a large stain on the floor. The beds are extremely bouncy and quite uncomfortable and felt really small which let it down. We also ran out of gas on our 2nd day (we stayed for 3 nights) and was disgusted that we had to go out to top this up as I have never stayed anywhere where we need to pay extra for gas, especially as we payed over £850 for 3 nights! We put an additional money on the card so we could all shower, however the water still came out cold so did not work, was cold showers all round for the rest of our stay! Could also do with having additional comforts such as TV's in the bedrooms. I would not stay here again as do not feel like the price reflects what you are getting. The fact we ran out of £20 gas on day 2 is ridiculous, if we were staying for 1 week it would cost us a fortune on top of the total holiday price just to have hot water which is a basic and is included at every place I have ever stayed in the UK.
