Firstly we enjoyed our holiday so much that we have booked to go again next year. We read all the reviews before we booked so that we knew what we would be getting. We do cottages a lot so know what to look for. This cottage, which is large, and the pictures don't really reflect that, is in an absolute prime location for the beach and the clifftop walks. The beach is literally a minute from the house. We saw seals almost every day. We walked into the little , very quaint town each day. There is a skate park, park, playing field and a few little shops, ice cream parlour and cafe's. Further into town there is a fantastic butchers, Post Office ( where they are so helpful) and a fish stall, bakers. A wonderful fish and chip shop. It is much quieter than Sheringham and Cromer but that's just the way we like it. Lovely walks near by. Views of the sea from the cottage. It can be a little difficult to walk down the hill but we had a disabled guest and found with a buggy it was fine. The cottage itself is, despite other reviews extremely well equipped with every sort of kitchen utensil, cleaning product you could want. There is an airer and a washing line ( you just need to look). The heating is extremely efficient and having a washing machine was a bonus. The garden is enclosed and the side garden was lovely and private. The 2 main bedrooms are large and yes it only has one bathroom ( you know that when you book) but the second bedroom has a sink, the main bedroom an additional shower ( not as efficient as the main one) and there are two toilets. The third bedroom works well with 2 single beds. The cottage is quaint but we loved that. Our only constructive point is that the fridge is right next to the boiler which did prove somewhat awkward and the settees although really large were a little uncomfortable and low for our older guests but that really is the only thing for us. Towels are extra on top of the price, it would be useful if these were included. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of pillows. The parking for us was fine, we had three cars and had no problem getting them into the allocated spaces, two were large SUV's. We had our two grandchildren with us, they absolutely loved the week and our granddaughter had her 5th birthday there. The owners were extremely helpful and all in all we loved it.

Great location and lots of space in the cottage. Would be even better if the garden was dog proof - wouldn't take much.

Excellent location. We had a lovely week, with days on the beach and days out. Many attractions are very close to the village.

Dysfunctional kitchen. Although everything worked, the layout was extremely interesting, with no space for dirty dishes, little draining board, the fridge under the hob, hot pipes running under the work top - useful if you want your wine gently heated. I always struggle in holiday cottage kitchens and this one just didn't have the pots and pans to feed my family of seven. Also the TV didn't work, except for occasional BBC!?! Good Wifi however, for an additional £10 charge. Spacious and comfortable but why did the heating keep coming on however many times we changed the controls? Also why washing machine and pegs but no washing line or airer? However on the plus side, lovely flat beach a few steps away and you can literally hear the sea from the windows (which have to remain permanently open due to the heating being on in the middle of summer!). If you can afford to eat out alot (make sure you book meals out days in advance as I couldn't find anywhere decent before about 8.30 at night - too late for my children - when the cooking facilities finally got to me), and feel the cold then this cottage may be perfect for you. There is lots to do in the area

The cottage was in a lovely village and close to the sea . But we felt it was in need of updating, the showers were not working properly, and the toilets needed replacing, the garden was not dog friendly as our terrier could have escaped over the low wall on to a busy road, that was the main road out of the village to Cromer. We came home early as the weather was not very good and it was a pain having to put the dog on a lead every time she wanted to go into the garden.

The Smugglers is in a good location and has a character all of its own, we enjoyed the experience of staying there . The lounge and dinning area are very nice and comfortable, what was disappointing were the bedrooms and bathroom as these appeared to be very tired, saying that the second large bedroom was the best of the three. Although its advertised as having accommodation for seven. I myself believe it would be hard to accommodate that number due to having only one bathroom and a very strange shower cubicle in one of the large bedrooms. The fridge is very small and kitchen equipment/utensils very basic although there is a dishwasher and washing machine. There was always plenty of hot water and the heating worked well as did the WIFI. The parking could be an issue if there was a group booking and you a few large family cars or SUVs Saying all that I did enjoy are stay but feel the Smugglers needs some TLC

Smugglers Lookout is a very clean, spacious and comfortable home to stay in. Top marks for such comfortable beds a rare occurrence in holiday homes. We very much enjoyed our stay. Mundesley hasnt much to offer locally but is in a good place to explore the coastline.

We enjoyed our stay in this spacious airy house, the beds are comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. The garden will be lovely after its post winter tidy up, you can see its potential. The house facilities need a few basic upkeep things to bring it up to perfect. We would stay again though in a heartbeat, and Mundesley is a perfect seaside town.

This was our second stay in Smugglers Lookout. It has everything we need in a fantastic location, at a great price. It has plenty of room for four adults and three children to be together, but also to have time apart. We got lots of information about Mundesley and local events from the owner, which led us to take part in the village Egg Hunt. We would definitely stay again.
