Shropshire glamping is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the stunning countryside. All the accommodation is designed, built, and individually styled with luxury furnishings and fixtures. The Geo Dome, Summerhouse and Kingfisher Pod are set around the lake, each with their own view and where the huge variety of interesting geese and birdlife gather including a kingfisher family, grebe, and tufted ducks. The Willow Shepherd’s Hut nestles in the oak tree field and has views over the field and across the stream towards the lake. Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway, a friend’s trip or a dog-friendly vacation, the stunning Summerhouse has been crafted and built by the owners using larch and Douglas fir for the solid frame, log lap and handmade cedar roof tiles. Overhanging the lake, the most unique of all the accommodation. The Summerhouse has a covered decked walkway and a handmade wrap-around larch balustrade. The beautiful light and airy vaulted ceiling in the living/kitchen area has windows to all sides, with glass panels and double glass doors opening out to the decking. The separate large bedroom’s kingsize bed also leads out onto the front decked area through separate double glass doors. The sofa sits in front of the doors making the most of the lake views.
To stock up your kitchen, head to Shawbury, 10 minutes away, where you’ll find a small supermarket a bakery, takeaway restaurants, and an organic farm shop. Venture into Shrewsbury where there’s a variety of things to do making it a great day out. Shrewsbury is full of finds to be discovered by foot or by boat; the River Severn is a must, as is the array of independents from cafés to boutique shops, the castle, the old market hall featuring local artists and lovely shops and eateries, all in the picturesque market town with over 1,000 years of history.
The Shropshire Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is home to The Wrekin, ’or little mountain’, which is a well-known landmark that dominates the skyline for miles. Sitting at 407 metres, it is popular with hikers and walkers, as it offers superb views over Shropshire.
Further afield takes you to the medieval market town of Ludlow, famous for its castle, as well as many food and drink festivals throughout the year to enjoy. Take a trip to the town of Bridgnorth, home to The Severn Valley Steam Railway, explore the World Heritage Site of the Ironbridge Gorge or discover the numerous National Trust properties of Attingham Park, Benthall Hall, Sunnycroft House and Carding Mill Valley all within easy reach.
The owners offer delightful breakfast packs, just ask them directly prior to your arrival. Access to the accommodation is reached by foot via the gravelled pathways. The owners can transport belongings for you with their utility buggy. These properties are ideal for group bookings for birthday celebrations, reunions, families and so on. There is use of a large vintage/industrial style BBQ hut with a large charcoal BBQ, pig roast burner, pizza oven and sit-up bar area, table, and chairs. Lit with fairy lights inside which can be decorated and set for special occasions (extra charge applies).
These properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 14 guests.
