Cottage is lovely but with a few things we didn’t like, considering the price: No change of towels Not enough toilet roll No toiletries for the shower No means to clean floors Windows very hard to open French windows permanently locked Gate latch hurts fingers - too close to door jamb Too much shade in overgrown garden Butter from welcome pack was off Heating not adjustable No central lighting, but lots of little lights in wrong places No recycling facilities

I had bronchitis, and we had to turn and go home after only two nights. Generally a nice little cottage, but thick dust on the inside of the bathroom door didn't leave a good impression - and we couldn't get the log-burning stove to draw. On top of not being able to get in because the gate had swollen so much - we had to call the owners to bring the back door key - this would have been mildly disappointing anyway, but a holiday cottage is no place to be ill and we just abandoned the whole project. Also there is nowhere to store frozen food - not only no freezer, but no freezer compartment in the fridge - yet space is wasted on a dishwasher. At other times and other seasons this is no doubt a charming spot, but unfortunately it didn't work for us at all.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you were taken ill during your stay and felt you needed to leave to be nearer your doctor, this must have been a big disappointment with it being Christmas. The cottage was prepared with care for Christmas, decorated with a tree and a bottle of champagne left in the fridge for your enjoyment. In regard to your comments, the gate to the garden was repaired prior to your arrival but unfortunately, with the wet weather, the wood had swollen causing it to be harder to open, we responded very quickly to your concerns and immediately provided you with an alternative means of entry; there are clear instructions on how to operate the wood burner with the information provided. However, there was no evidence of the wood burner having been used after your departure so we are confused over your statement about being unable to get the burner to draw; lastly, we informed you that there wasn’t a freezer in the cottage and if you refer to the cottage details on the website you will see that a freezer is not listed; we are, however, able to provide a small freezer for our guests if this is requested. We are sorry that the stay wasn’t right for you but this is not reflected in the views of other guests as you will see from our overall score of 8.6.

Our second stay at seasong and hopefully not our last. Another wonderful break in fantastic accommodation. Can’t help it but quite a few cobwebs, hence the 9 for cleanliness. Great pub, post office/deli, seafood cafe, fish and chip van thurs-mon and beach and close to the coast hopper bus stops- all we need amenity wise. Beautiful simple decor.
