Loved every minute of a weeks stay at the Seaside cottage, i cannot fault a single thing about the accommodation or the local area, if its peace and quiet your after then look no further, we had so many places planned to go and visit locally but after a few days here we soon came to realise that it was the "do nothing and relax" holiday we was actually after, just watching the tides come in :) We visited Whitehaven for a scout around and a visit to Muncaster Castle is a must if you like your birds of prey, well worth a visit and only 25 minutes a way..The cottage is being looked after with love and care so your not wanting for anything at all when you get there..Tea, Coffee, Milk, Cake and Icecream as a welcome...cannot fault the place, just get it booked :)

Simply the best self catering holiday cottage we've ever stayed at in 25 years. It's clear so much love and care has been put into making this a home from home. So peaceful and tranquil to just watch the daily changing seascape and night sky. Sue the owner was cheerful and informative so thank you for a fantastic memorable 2 week stay.

Seaside cottage is delightful, with all essentials provided. There is a gentle seaside theme running through the cottage, which adds to the charm, and a tiered garden stocked with shrubs and flowers - and a view of the sea. There are plenty of books, games, and jigsaws, as well as paints and brushes for little art projects. Being so close to the sea provided much needed tranquillity, and the views are beautiful - not least the sunset. We were lucky to have had marvellous weather, which also enhanced the calm and the colour. Just to be aware of is that the roads leading to the cottage are very narrow with few/no passing points, and generally seem very quiet. Although beautiful the coastline here is pebbles and rocks, and therefore almost impossible to walk on - even for dogs - or get down to the sea. The historic town of Egremont is very close and ideal for all essentials. This really is a beautiful spot to relax, and to enjoy what nature has to offer.

Beautiful accommodation in an outstandingly beautiful setting. My only disappointment was I tried to book again for next year and was too late. Everything you could need was already at the cottage including little treats for us and the dog and I couldn't fault anything - not even the weather !!!

Really lovely beachfront cottage, very well equipped with everything you will need and exceptionally clean with beautiful bedding all rooms follow a beach theme. It was very kind of Sue to leave cakes for us and treats for our Westies. It was so lovely sitting in the conservatory watching the changing tides and our dogs loved running on the sand when the tide was out. Cottage is well situated to enjoy the quieter lakes of buttermere, loweswater and ennerdale. A walk along the river at Eskdale was recommended by Sue and it was excellent. All in all a fantastic weeks holiday

Second stay at this gem of a cottage. First time was 4 years ago as a solo visit and again in March 2018 as a family of four. We would have been back sooner but whenever I'd checked, it was booked up which just goes to show how great it is. Some cottages limit the heating/towels/bedding etc. but not this one. Spare everything is accessible, just like it would be at home. If anything, it was a little too warm! I wouldn't hesitate to go back again.

locally not much around and egremont which is the nearest main place is quite run down with alot of empty buildings. the beach is shale and pebbles and not able to walk on it which was a shame, even our jack russell could not walk on it. the cottage was comfortable and enclosed which is important when owning a dog. but we prefer the lakes further south.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for choosing to stay at Seaside Cottage, it was good to hear that you were comfortable. We welcome feedback from our guests but we are puzzled as to why your review gave Seaside Cottage (which is at Coulderton Beach) low marks due to the condition of some empty buildings that you saw when you visited the Market Town of Egremont? This surely is something that is beyond our control. Unfortunately it is not clear as to why you and your dog were unable to walk on the beach but for the benefit of future guests, we would like to put the record straight regarding the beach here at Coulderton. It is pebbled (not shale) with various patches of exposed sand when the tide goes out and this seashore is regularly enjoyed by people of all ages (and their dogs).

Fantastic! A beautiful cottage in a wonderful location. Thoughtful hosts meant this was the best equipped holiday rental we have ever stayed in. Lovely and warm even as the Siberian weather approached! Blue skies and fabulous sunsets, enjoyed from the sun room. Just a perfect weekend getaway.
