Seagull’s Nest is a delightful property positioned in an enviable location in the old part of the fishing town of Whitby. It boasts stunning views from the first and top floor rooms over the marina and harbour, and provides an excellent standard of accommodation for families looking to explore this beautiful area. The modern décor and furnishings have been tastefully done and finished off to a high standard. There is shared access to the rear of the property onto a patio area with furniture which is perfect for relaxing on a summers evening.

The accommodation is over four floors with the kitchen on the lower ground floor accessed externally from steps leading up from the road. A staircase leads up from the kitchen to the living room on the ground floor which has an external door to the backyard. The street behind the house can be reached by a metal staircase in the yard leading to a door onto the street.

A five minute walk will bring you into the centre of Whitby where there is plenty to offer everyone with a large selection of pubs, quaint antique and gift shops, the famous fish and chip shops and three miles of golden sandy beach. A holiday here is perfect for families or couples looking to relax and enjoy the ample restaurants with their awards for excellent cuisine. You could also take a trip out on one of the pleasure boats where you can enjoy a trip around the harbour and out to sea where you can view Whitby in all its glory. Whitby is surrounded by spectacular scenery of the North York Moors which you can enjoy by taking either the Esk valley train that takes you to Middlesbrough stopping at the pretty villages along the way, or the excellent North York Moor steam train that will take you from Whitby to the lovely market town of Pickering stopping off at Goathland otherwise known as ‘Heartbeat Country’. The lovely coastal resorts of Sandsend, Staithes, Runswick Bay and Robin Hoods Bay are all within close proximity and are well worth a visit.

This place was great. Very clean and well equipped. Certainly large enough for a family. If you don't mind steps/stairs it's perfect. The bath was lovely. And I thought the pictures on the website don't do it justice. It's warm and cosy. We'll definitely be back

Seagull's Nest is a lovely cottage! But unfortunately there were a few things which weren't perfect. The TV in the kitchen didn't work. The cottage (and the hot water) were just about warm but no instructions on how to change the temperature. Indeed apart from one or two instructions on the wall we found no instructions about the cottage at all apart from lots of user manuals in a folder for various equipment. Because there are two doors into the cottage, it would be helpful if the keys identified which door they relate to. But everything was spotlessly clean and we had a nice time.

Warm and welcoming when we arrived on a dreary day. Everything you need is there so you only need to take food and drink. Yes there are a lot of steps but it does tell you this in the description. We had no problems with parking close to the house. There is a lovely view out of the bedroom windows and the beach is a few minutes walk. Minus points; couldn’t alter the temp on the shower which was very hot, no tv remote for the kitchen (you can use the room one), plugging in the toaster blew the fuse no matter which socket we used (fuse box above the back door to reset), plug for the iron was broken. Overall we had a lovely week and we were more than happy with the cottage.
