Seagulls enjoys far-reaching, spectacular views across the Blakeney salt-marshes from full-length windows in the first floor living room. It is set at the end of a quiet no-through road with a secluded garden. Over the road is the village playing field with tennis courts. Inside, the house is warm, convenient and attractive - practical for families with children, yet well-furnished to be relaxing and comfortable for the older generation. The well-equipped retro kitchen leads to the dining room which boasts a cosy wood burner.
Blakeney Quay is a short walk past the village shop (with bacon for the ever-obliging crabs). From here is access to the marsh or up to the village. Blakeney is a bird-watcher’s paradise; the coastal path runs in front of the house, there are seals at Blakeney Point, and it is surrounded by beautiful countryside walks. The historic little town of Holt is close by and offers a range of shops, pubs, restaurants, cafés and weekly markets. Within a few minutes’ drive is Holt Lowes, an area renowned for wildlife, designated as both a Site of Special Scientific Interest and Special Area of Conservation. Also worth a visit is Holt Country Park with its wealth of bird life, as well as other RSPB reserves. The region has several stately homes such as NT Blickling and Felbrigg Halls, Holkham Hall and Houghton Hall. Other interesting days out include visits to Sheringham Park, and Walsingham Shrine and Priory ruins. Sheringham offers golf and is home to the North Norfolk Steam Railway, Splash aqua pool, a promenade and a pier. Within easy driving distance is Norwich with its excellent shopping, restaurants, cathedral, theatre, pubs, cinema and markets. Wells-next-the-Sea is 5 miles and Holkham’s vast sandy beach is just 8 miles. Windsurfing, dinghy launching, sailing and boat trips are all available locally. Shops 100 yards.

Extremely disappointed with this property. It is so very shabby everything is so old. The bathrooms were grim, the towel rail in one did not work and although it could be switched on the wring had burned out at the bottom, both the showers were abysmal just trickles, the tumble dryer did not work, the blankets for the beds were grim, the stairs going up to the sitting room are too steep for safety, the garden is definitely not secure for dogs to safely be outside on there own. Just so very disappointed in fact we left early to return home. This was supposed to be a happy restful holiday for my husband following chemotherapy.

A lovely holiday home in beautiful Blakeney. Very well equipped for all a families needs. Lovely enclosed garden for the dogs. It’s in a handy location for the shop and quay side, would recommend a hot chocolate at the hotel !

Our family loved our stay at Seagulls. Yes it’s a bit old fashioned but in a good, comfortable way that means lots of things have been thought out over time. Location brilliant - we were out on the coastal footpath first thing every morning meeting the other dog walkers and loving the experience. The comfortable upstairs lounge with views over the marsh and even a telescope was very popular. Children and dogs were able to play ball and run around the garden without us worrying that one or other would get out and in any case we could easily keep an eye on them. The kitchen was well equipped - bonus points for working kitchen scales and a small food processor! Our duvet was rather warm for the hot weather we’ve had this summer but that was the only quibble. Thank you to the owners and cottages.com team for such a good holiday.
