Located on the outskirts of Braunton and Chivenor, Scottie’s Retreat is a well presented, semi-detached bungalow that sits on the edge of a private estate, with parking 70 yards from the property, and beautiful views from the side and rear over the neighbouring fields. This is the ideal place to use as a comfortable base whilst exploring all this sought-after area of Devon has to offer, with fantastic beaches, dramatic coastline and a bustling village all on the doorstep.
Being near the centre of Braunton, said to be the largest village in England, all the shops, restaurants and pubs are all within walking distance. Braunton is the gateway to some of North Devon’s finest beaches, including Saunton, Croyde and Woolacombe. Here you can enjoy the sandy beaches, to either top up your tan or learn to surf at one of the many surf schools in the area. Close by are the Braunton Burrows sand dunes which is designated a Site Special Scientific Interest.
There is plenty to do for all ages in the area, making this an ideal all year round destination. Take time to visit Clovelly, the lighthouse and quay at Hartland, the Big Sheep and Milky Way Amusement Parks, RHS Rosemoor at Torrington, or go cycling on the Tarka Trail or crabbing at Appledore quay. The regional town of Barnstaple has plenty of good shops and restaurants, the pannier market and Butcher’s Row are well worth a visit. For those wanting to travel a bit further, Dartmoor and Exmoor are both within reach, as well as North Cornwall. Beach 4 miles. Shop 200 yards, pub and restaurant 500 yards.
