The Cart Shed is a wonderful holiday house in a beautiful location. The children's playground is even better than it looks on the photos on the website, and provided a great way for our children to make friends and pass the time before and after days out. The Cleveland Way runs just a few hundred metres away, so we had some great walks and runs with wonderful scenery and no fear of getting lost. The cottage itself is really comfortable and furnished to a very high standard. The Wifi worked really well and the games room was really well stocked with beach gear, books and games for children and a pool table for the adults. The only improvements I could suggest would be a bigger fridge, a permanent BBQ, some sharper knives for cooking, and in the twin rooms, get beds that can be combined to make a double, to give people that option if they have three couples and two children staying, as we did. The private garden was completely enclosed and safe for the children, and ideal for having barbecues. We will definitely aim to return!

Great location for dog and children, enclosed private garden. Cottage nicely furnished, however one small inefficient fridge was totally inadequate in a self catering cottage that sleeps 8. Cleaning not quite up to scratch and we also had a one off cleaning issue on arrival( a window was left open and a pigeon had got in) We understood that occasionally things can go wrong but the way it was dealt with was very dismissive and the site manager/caretaker was lacking in the usual courtesy/ customer care you would expect from this standard of accommodation. We ended up offering to clean it ourselves, and she let us!!

Our stay in the cart shed was lovely, the staff were always on hand and took care of anything we needed. The cottage itself is beUtufylly decorated and the living room snug was perfect for us once the kids were in bed. I have already recommended Scalby lodge to friends!
