This was our 3rd visit to Scalby Lodge and the site itself is well laid out and well kept. On previous visits Castle View was very clean and beautifully presented, however on this occasion the cleanliness was not of the same standard. The dining table was very sticky and had not been cleaned the large carpet in the living room is stained and in need of cleaning or replacing, the hallway had not been cleaned adequately as one of the party got a shard of glass in her foot going to the landing cupboard. Once the door to the cupboard was opened the cleaners had left a damp mop and bucket in there which was causing a very unpleasant smell. During our visit the gardeners came and mowed the lawn leaving all the grass all over the patio and paths which we had to sweep up as it was trailing into the property. I t is a great shame that the property had not been maintained properly as the site and position of Castle View is lovely.

Some dust on lamp shades required cleaning but rest of property clean Would benefit from toaster rather than having to use grill for toast

We rented the lodge for a short mid week break for a family get together, we have stayed here previously and a number of the other lodges on site all very good.
