The Roost is a really lovely cottage to stay in for a holiday, the views are breathtaking, Kate makes sure your stay is very good with a welcome Cream Tea, you have all the amenities you need, our only downfall was it wasn’t as close to where we were visiting as we thought but that was our problem. The first night we were there we walked to the local Inn (The Old Inn) to have dinner was not impressed with our food but we went back on the Wednesday and had a roast dinner which was really lovely. There are plenty of walking areas close to the Roost which was good for us and the dog

Wow what a fantastic cottage, it started from the warm welcome from the owner and the lovely cream tea we found waiting for us. Beautiful out look from the lounge we watched the birds and deer in the field. Well fitted kitchen with everything you need. Log fire in the lounge, with the 1st lot of logs provided under floor heating through out. Lovely fitted bathroom and comfy bed. Nice entrance hall for coats and shoes etc. Very quite location in a great village, the local pub does great food. 5-6 miles into Bodim by car across the moor. Ideal spot for travelling further afield in Cornwall. Great cottage we could not fault anything. We recommend without hesitation and would stay again.

Beautiful cottage - it started snowing as we arrived but managed to get there before it got too bad and we were stuck there for 24 hours where we were not able to get out in the car. The cottage was beautifully warm with the underfloor heating. Gorgeous cottage with a lovely owner and her Labrador Molly. And the Old Inn in the village is awesome.

Absolutely beautiful cottage so clean and comfortable and very private. For us it was just a little too remote.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Roost, the reason we go back is because the stay at the holiday cottage is excellent However there are a few things I would like to comment (Contruction Criticism) 1) Due to the size of the lounge area, a bigger TV would make a positive change 2) There are a few areas of the cottage which could appreciate a few licks of paint and maybe freshening up (Few damaged paintwork areas) 3) The clearing at the cottage has been my biggest concern, the overall cottage is very clean but if you look closer, such as on the roof windows and on top of cupboards etc there a spider webs, inside the wooden windows could benefit from cleaning as there are dirty. I don’t want you to read this and it put a downer on the cottage as the above are only pointers for the host, the addition of the wooden blinds on the rear windows is a excellent addition, with the new houses in view across the field, and with a few walkers in the field, it’s nice to block them out. The underfloor heating in the coldest days in excellent, it’s nice to come back to the cottage to find the floor and rooms nice and warm. Kate is an excellent host, happy to show you around the cottage and answer questions

This was just perfect for us. View through the big window was lovely. Bathroom and shower were so good too. The kitchen was superbly equipped. Underfloor heating kept us warm. We would have loved to stay a lot longer.

This was our 2nd time at the Roost and we will be going back. Just such a lovely cottage and even it is a bit inland and tricky to get to (typical Cornish roads 😆) it is still close enough to the sea to spend your days at the beach. We and our dogs absolutely love it.
