It has often been said that Rosecraddoc Manor must be the nearest thing to paradise. The manor properties stand in 38 acres of beautiful grounds and woodlands, set around a lovely lake, stocked with carp, roach and bream. Rosecraddoc Manor features a variety of properties surrounding the historic Manor House to cater for all tastes whether classic, modern, cosy or cottage style is what you are looking for. The manor was built in the 1820s on the site of a much older house mentioned in the Domesday Book. It is Grade II listed, along with two bridges in the grounds, and has now been converted into these attractive apartments and cottages, making a perfect base for your Cornish holiday.

On site you can fish on the lake (bring own fishing licence, barbless hooks and landing nets must be used, please) or play tennis on the all weather court (smooth soled tennis shoes to be worn, not squash shoes; please bring your own racquets and tennis balls). If you can bear to leave this beautiful spot, just 2½ miles away in Liskeard there is a superb leisure complex, where you can enjoy squash, badminton, gym, indoor bowls and indoor leisure pools, which include a children’s pool and flume, as well as the main pool.

Within 4 miles you can explore Bodmin Moor, where you can go riding, walking or even try water sports on Siblyback Lake - wind surfing, dinghy sailing and canoeing are available. To the south, lovely sandy beaches and pretty fishing harbours lie along the coast. Several excellent golf courses can also be found in the area; and the Eden Project is only 20 miles away.

The Manor and the Coach House have been tastefully and sympathetically restored to please the most discerning guest. The cottages are refs B6859, CV7102, CV7103, CV17, CV13 and CV44. Some of the cottages are suitable for guests with disabilities (CV44 is designed for the convenience of visitors with disabilities, as well as able-bodied visitors), and ref B6859 boasts an American fridge/freezer. Access to the front door of the manor is by 3 stone steps. The apartments are refs CV14, CV20, CV11 and B4866 which are all on the first floor and ref CV12 is a ground floor apartment. Whichever you choose you will find it immaculately clean, with freshly laundered linen and tea towels. Please bring your own towels. Cot linen is not supplied. Cornwall is well known for its mild climate, but at Rosecraddoc Manor, even if it is cold outside, your accommodation will be warm and welcoming. Jacuzzi and spa baths are available in some properties (please check prior to booking). There are several pubs locally, and a leisurely stroll to the foot of the drive and across the road leads to a licensed bar and restaurant. The Village Inn serves a wide range of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages, and with an extensive menu including children’s meals. It also hosts a large TV screen, patio area, pool room with dart board and wide range of tourist information and leaflets, quiz nights and curry nights are held regularly during the high season. An ideal venue for all the family.

Cottage was lovely. We arrived early after a 9 hour drive and they kindly let us go into the cottage. Was very clean and modern. A couple of maintenance issues but nothing major. signal was very poor but as soon as you got out of the dip and up the hill worked great. There was 8 of us and still plenty of room. Did find it odd that the only room that had more than 7 seats was the dinning room. Would definitely go again! Perfect location to be out of way and in a very pictures' place but close enough to all tourist attractions normally only a half hour to a hour drive.

Very nice cottage in rural location, nice to wake up to nothing but bird song and the water fall.

I would of given 10 out of 10 but decided not to for the following reason: There is no phone signal at all hence the owner probably taking advantage of it. You have to pay for wifi which is extremely slow and expensive. Having said that,The owner is very friendly and helpful, our place was stunning apart from downstairs toilet flush issue. Due to poor phone signal in the cottage, least the owner could do is provide decent free internet. I mean all the coffee shop has free internet now days. Worse bit was, i had to walk around outside in rain to get signal so i could tell my mother i have arrived safely. I hope the owner takes this suggestion on board.

Beautiful grounds and comfortable property. No WiFi available even though we had filtered this in our search as essential, you had to purchase on arrival and it didn’t work which is the main reason for our scoring otherwise it would have been 9/10.

A nice cottage in a beautiful estate, with a waterfall and stream running past the property. The property was clean and tidy. Only a short drive to Liskeard and several large supermarkets, so no problem getting supplies. We enjoyed an excellent stay over the new year and particularly enjoyed the new years eve party at the Village Inn on the estate, which was organised by the site management. However, there were a few things we noted, that could make a big improvement to the property for future visitors. Firstly, for 10 people the kitchen is a little under equipped. for example, 1 medium sized frying pan isn't really enough. We had to use a mixture of pots, pans and baking trays for almost every meal to cook sufficient food for all of us at the same time. Second and most importantly, the property is advertised as having Wi-fi, which you need to pay a supplement for. £15 for 3 devices for one week. My advice to future guests is DO NOT pay for the Wi-fi. It is impossibly slow. On average, we were obtaining internet speeds of 50 kbps (yes, Kilobits, not Megabits) if lucky. My advice to the management of Rosecraddoc Manor is to either seek a new internet service provider with significantly faster speeds, or upgrade your connection to achieve faster speed. Having paid for the Wi-fi, after 2 days of frustration with the slow speed, most of us gave up and used our mobile internet. However, be warned again, as the signal in the valley is very weak and intermittent. The other option of course, is to enjoy a week without using the internet at all!
