Description

Hayloft is a first floor apartment for two with a sauna. If you can tear yourselves away then Cornwall’s unique charm is awaits you.

Set in the gently undulating foothills of Bodmin Moor, Rosecraddoc Manor boasts a history that dates back to the Domesday Book. Rebuilt in the 1820s it is Grade II listed, together with the two bridges in the grounds – one of which forms part of the entrance drive. The manor house and coach house have been converted into apartments, all furnished and equipped to a very high standard, with many luxurious touches that will appeal to the most discerning of visitors. Access to the front door of the Manor is by 3 stone steps. Some of the accommodation features four poster beds and some offer spa baths. All accommodation boasts the benefit of a sauna.
Heron is a first floor studio-style apartment, whilst Riverview and Riverbank enjoy a secluded position on the banks of the small cascading river, with pretty aspects across the river and parkland towards the lake – these two cottages include special features to make them suitable for wheelchair users.
Lakeview stands about 75 yards from the manor, in an enviable position overlooking the fishing lake, and enjoys particularly beautiful views from its first floor living room and large balcony.
Rosecraddoc Manor is surrounded by 35 acres of natural gardens and bluebell woods that beckon to you to stroll along its footpaths. The lake is well stocked for coarse fishing, with carp, roach and bream, and the all weather tennis court can be enjoyed April – October. There are several pubs locally, and a leisurely stroll to the foot of the drive and across the road leads to a licensed bar ‘The Village Inn’ which offers an extensive menu including children’s meals, barbecues and live entertainment regularly during the high season. It also has a large screen TV, pool room and children’s games making it an ideal venue for all the family.
Looe, with its many attractions is just 8 miles away whilst historic Plymouth with its city attractions and the Eden Project are both about 20 miles. Shop 1.5 miles, pub within 1 mile.

We did expect more space for the money plus a much better furniture. As we missed our ferry from France we tried several times to contact by phone the number indicated that we would arrive 1 day later. Upon arrival in Portmouth late in the evening next day we tried again in vain. We thought it would be too risky to find the keys plus house very late at night, we made another stopover in a hotel, misssing the 2nd night we paid for. We counted on the restaurant on siteon the other days but found it closed . There we not towels at all available and we had to ask for them the next morning. We were not used from other rentals to be charged for electricity, which was another 26 p.st. for 5 evenings. The small road to the holiday site was ok in November, however we do not dare to think what might happen during the holiday season. However the place as such with the lake is lovely , but from former rentals we did expect more from the cottage

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us at Rosecraddoc Manor and that you enjoyed the surroundings and the grounds. It is a shame that you did not enjoy the Hayloft, which we try to make in keeping with the style of coachhouse property, a new bathroom was put in during the last year, along with a new carpet and leather sofa. With reference to you phone calls, we did in fact speak when you advised us that you would be delayed and we explained the key collection procedure. However, when you did leave messages following the initial call, we were unable to reply since you left no number to call back on. Our onsite bar and restaurant, The Village Inn, was open 3 night during your stay, as we reduce opening hours during the winter, it is a shame we did not see you on one of those days. As for the electric, it is advised that this is an extra cost, we make no money from this, its just what is charged for via the company. It does encourage guests also to be more energy conscious. Towels are not provided with the Hayloft and it is advertised that only bed linen is however we are pleased you were able to obtain some from our onsite managers the next day.

We stayed in the Hayloft. Lovely. Very clean and well equipped, everything we could want and need. The surroundings were beautiful and so quiet. We had a small waterfall behind the Hayloft. The whole area was beautiful. The lake was full of fish🎣 brilliant fishing we were assured by a gentleman who knew. 😀. Highly recommended. A brilliant week. Really recommended.
