This cottage was beatiful, but a bit narrow for 3 persons and a dog. The surrounding area is very quiet, Hythe is a nice city with a long seaside promenade. The owners was very kind and helpful. Overall, we spent a pleasant weekend here.

Not really suitable for two adults using the two separate bedrooms. Made very welcome by owners and very well positioned within the town.

A week of fantastic weather in a great location to visit places we have wanted to see for a long time. Easy parking and walking distance to the town's amenities. A cosy little old cottage perched up above the pretty town with views out to the sea in the distance.

Unfortunately this accomodation is just average. On the Down side: 1) most serious- the second bedroom is quite unusable for adults because of the wonky bed-just a mattress loosely thrown onto a small sort of sofa. This cottage can sleep definitely only 2 people. 2) The shower in the bathroom is also faulty. The mixer tap is obviously not working properly. Either you get burned by quite hot water or it is freezing cold. 3)The surroundings (esp. the back) of Rose Cottage are in desperate need of a big tidy up. It is not a pleasure sitting outside and looking at a row of rubbish bins and boxes with junk of allkind. On the UP-side Nice working TV set with freeview and and a dishwasher, also in gwo. This place is definetely NOT value for money

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We are currently replacing the upstairs single bed, but I would like to add that you didn't use the upstairs room. I have checked the mixer tap in the bathroom, it is not faulty. You have to get the setting correct, but this shouldn’t be too difficult as other guests have not complained. I'm afraid green dustbins are a part of British road furniture, rubbish has to be put somewhere.

Lovely cottage but really not 2 bedroom as advertised because of the ‘single bed’ provided. It was a single mattress shoved on top of a children’s size pull out truckle mattress. This did spoil our holiday as we needed that second bedroom and it wasn’t comfortable to sleep on a mattress on the floor in the end. The cottage itself was lovely to be honest and had all the amenities you would need but it was such a shame we had the issue with bedroom.

The owner, James, is the biggest asset to this lovely cottage. He is very attentive, and wants to ensure that you feel comfortable. The cottage is tiny, and perfect. 16th century, and hasn't been added to since being built. Perfect location for many of Kent's attractive villages, and interesting coastline. Highly recommend.

We had a lovely cosy stay at Rose Cottage. The owner James was so welcoming ,helpful and thoughtful, nothing was too much trouble. Bed was so comfy and there was plenty of hot water. The cottage is very small and quirky but extremely cosy once the fire is lit. The cottage is very local to the high street in Hythe which is loaded with eateries and places to have a drink. The seafront is about 8/10 minutes walk away and the Military Canal is 5 mins walk away also. Ideal for a couple but be advised the stairs are narrow. Rose cottage is ideal for exploring the Kent coastline. Off road parking is also a great benefit. Thank you James for a super stay,,

Had a lovely stay at Rose Cottage, cute little place, really cozy. James was an absolute diamond (owner). Log burn was fantastic and James made sure we had plenty of logs for our whole 2 week stay. Thanks James 😁

Rose Cottage was a cosy and much needed get away. My son and dog Skye - also really made themselves at home. James was very helpful and attentive. I would certainly book again.
