This sophisticated holiday home features a light and warm design scheme, local artwork, and a riverside setting. All three riverside terrace properties retain their privacy from each other due to the curved shape of the building. There is large patio area with magnificent views over the River Rothay and the fields and lakeland fells beyond. A stream runs near the patio area, which guests can listen to as it cascades down from the fell and into the river below.
The open plan lounge and dining area at Rivers Edge offers beautiful views of the river and countryside and provides a warm and cosy environment as you snuggle up in front of the log burner. The first bedroom offers a kingsize bed and a lovely en-suite bathroom with a bath and hand shower attachment, the second bedroom is equally impressive, with a Super king bed and an en-suite walk-in shower.
The kitchen is open plan and beautifully appointed, with every appliance you could need including fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and dishwasher all designed to make for a comfortable stay, there’s also the added luxury of underfloor heating. Ambleside, one of the most popular towns in the Lake District and is only a 20-minute walk from this house, it offers a wide selection of independent shops, pubs, restaurants and not one, but two cinemas. Waterhead Pier, which dates back to 1845, is the gateway to ferries which will take you to Bowness, Lakeside Pier near Newby Bridge, Wray Castle and Brockhole Visitor Centre, or you can hire a motorboat or rowing boat if you prefer to navigate the waters yourself. For the outdoor sports enthusiast there are activities ranging from abseiling and climbing to bushcraft and sailing.
If you prefer less energetic pursuits, then just a short walk from Ambleside is the National Trust owned Stagshaw Gardens or the impressive Stock Ghyll Force, a spectacular 70 foot waterfall which may be viewed safely from a railed viewpoint. Of course, you are at the heart of the Lake District so there are a huge variety of other attractions within easy access, including Motor Museum, Beatrix Potter attraction, Segway’s, aquarium, animal parks and the list goes on, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Beach 24½ miles. Pub and restaurant 2 miles.
In consultation with the owner Rivers Edge (UKC5758) could be booked together with Waterside (UKC5757), Viewpoint (UKC5759), Mallards (UKC5760) and Garden Cottage (UKC5761) to accommodate up to 18 guests.
