Amazing views from this lovely property. If peace, quiet and being in the centre of nature is what you are after (which is what we love) this is the place for you.

The low score for amenities is only because of the remoteness of the cottage. It’s a 10 to 15 minute drive to a Co-Op in Llandovery. We didn’t mind, as we wanted peace and quiet for Christmas. We loved the location and the fabulous views.

The double bed was very uncomfortable to sleep two adults in this is the main and only reason for not returning.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We are very sorry that the double bed was not to your liking. We prefer rather firm beds but this is a matter of preference. If you had contacted me perhaps I could have arranged for a mattress topper, which we have done previously.

We very much enjoyed our holiday at Rhyblid Fach, the cottage was cosy and welcoming after long days out exploring the Breacon Beacons My children loved saying hello every day to the ponies that would come right up to the garden we would definitely stay here again

First impressions were that I hadnt seen anywhere about the road to the cottage being a long, single track road with few passing places. Alot of people would be put off by this. Once we were inside, we wanted to put the heating on and also run a bath. We read the instructions for the boiler but no matter what we did we couldnt get it to work. We noticed the boiler showed 0 water pressure. I called the number on the information sheet, and left a message. 20 minutes later I called the mobile number instead, and we waited about half an hour for someone to come and sort the boiler out. It was fine after that, but a bit of a hassle after a long drive. The windows were filthy inside and out, and there were cobwebs everywhere, especially in corners of the bathrooms and between the curtains and radiator in the main bedroom, and around the windows, too. The blankets on the sofas smelled very doggy, so did the rug in front of the fire. There were cobwebs in the cupboards in the kitchen too, I was shocked when I got a saucepan out and my arm brushed one! However, the towels were soft, the bedding lovely, and we had most of what we wanted. Kitchen-wise it would have been good to have something like a Pyrex casserole dish as we wanted to make a curry but wasnt sure the china serving dish would be oven safe. There is also no bowl for the scales! The views were lovely, but we had to move the benches outside as they were right by the boiler exhaust and fumes! One chair we didnt use as the back of the seating piece was broken. The barbeque was uncovered, not in the shed, and the cover had clearly not been used for a very long time, being left in a leafy heap on the patio. Other than these things, it was a comfortable stay, and we really loved being away from it all. A teenager with very very slow wifi was tricky though! We woud stay again, but having stayed now, don't think its worth the amount being asked for a week just out of peak season.

    Response from:

Response in behalf of the owner; The final 2 miles or so of the journey from Myddfai onwards is along a country lane but as I am a local I would not consider it a particularly difficult road and from experience I know that there are ample places to pass. I apologise that the boiler had dropped in pressure and was therefore not working upon your arrival, as soon as I got your message I immediately drove to the property and fixed the problem. I also asked whilst I was there whether you were happy with everything at the cottage to which you replied yes, so I was a little surprised to see your comments. We pride ourselves on our cleanliness and usually have good feedback, if you had mentioned the windows and cobwebs I would have been happy to deal with the issues immediately. As for the throws smelling of dogs in your opinion, I find this surprising also because we do not allow dogs at the property. I thank you for pointing out the items of kitchenware that were lacking and I will remedy this immediately. The BBQ is supplied by us but we trust that the guests replace the cover after use and I apologise again if this was not the case. I will check the garden furniture and repair where necessary. I am glad to hear that overall you would be happy to return and we would be happy to welcome you back.
