The sunsets here, famously admired by J.M.W. Turner, are simply unforgettable. Steeped in history, the longhouse was originally built so fishermen could beach their boats and salt their catch. It later became The Greyhound Inn, a notorious 18th-century smuggling haunt and the inspiration behind Sir Walter Scott’s novel Redgauntlet. Today, this historic building has been thoughtfully converted into private dwellings, with Redgauntlet offering a stylish blend of character and modern comfort. Inside, the light-filled living and dining area boasts dual-aspect windows framing breathtaking sea views, a 50” wall-mounted Smart TV and breakfast bar seating for four, perfect for relaxed mornings together.
