Needs a really good clean the dust and cob webs behind all beds were bad.Not enough toilet rolls for all week ,says it’s working farm but all we saw is two park there was a trampoline and it was in ground full of water but that couldn’t be helped with all the rain we had before and while we were there no swings which kids were disappointed as it stated they had swings, the location was fine .Hot tub was good but lid very heavy that needs to be looked at needs to be on a lever arm cause any one not strong enough would never get that lid back on after being in tub.Heaters not great if you go in winter cabin was too cold for us nice break but wouldn’t go back .

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your review. Firstly our average cleanliness score on this property is 8.8, we disagree entirely it needs a "really good dust and clean”, however we are sorry you found the odd cob web behind some of the beds. We are a 600 acre mixed arable family farm of which the holiday business is ran by farmers wife which supports our 4 children, may we point out that the cattle winter inside and the Turkeys are in the large buildings next to the farm itself, and the sheep are indoors lambing. There are 5 ducks and 5 chickens roaming around the farm that I’m very surprised you didn't notice during the week you stayed here plus there are our 10 bloodhounds in the front paddock that were visible as you came up the main drive. As you are well aware on the first morning of your visit I responded to your request and came to your cabin and increased the heater temperatures for you and invited you and your grandchildren to come and sit in a tractor and see the cows in the barn on Thursday at 4pm, I waited but I could see your car was out and neither did you let us know you wasn't coming by text or ringing Lesley or myself. The trampoline was full of water as you state, sadly your visit coincided with storm Dennis which sadly flooded the hole the trampoline sits in, we had taken the swings down due to the recent storms however we did see you all on the seesaw and climbing wall, had you contacted us we would of gladly put the swings out for you. In 4 years you are the first booking to complain about the lids on the hot tubs, yes they are heavy with all the insulation inside them but two adults can easily move them. Regards the heaters, I turned them up for you on the first morning of your visit and you never complained about the temperature of the cabin for the rest of your week, we all so noted that your log burner was not used either in the cabin. Regards toilet rolls, we give your three rolls to get started, milk, cake, bin liners - the property is a self-catering log cabin. We understand that have given you a voucher, we declined to offer any compensation as we reacted quickly to any issues you raised at the time, however we do not feel we can compensate on any issues that are beyond our control, miss understood or not notified about. We are glad that beside the above issues you still enjoyed a "Nice Break".

We booked the lodge for the weekend for our son as a surprise to celebrate his 30th birthday with family/friends. The lodge is lovely although a frosted window would be helpful in the bathroom as our lodge overlooked the windows of one next to it !!! The fridge needed defrosting as you could hardly get anything in the tiny freezer box as it was so iced up . We managed as we were only there 3 days but for longer stays a bigger fridge and seperate freezer would be helpful.

We stayed here for a birthday event. Its location isn't too far away from Sherwood forest and nottingham centre. The cabin is based on a working farm it has a small park for the children and it allows children to look at their horses. The cabin was one of the best log cabins we have been to and we will most definitely be going back in the future. The hot tub was brilliant along with its cosy log burner. It was very clean and had plenty of essentials for your stay. We had an amazing time, thank you!

Such a lovely place to use as a base to explore from. The hot tub was the main pull for us, but the cottage was AWESOME! Really helpful owners who were on hand to help when needed. The local area has loads for families to do too. We will definitely be back.
