Set amidst peaceful countryside, this imposing detached farmhouse stands adjacent to the original farm buildings and overlooks the owner’s working arable farm, where seasonal operations provide a colourful reminder of the passage of the seasons. Rascal Wood provides holiday accommodation which is spacious, contemporary, light and airy, perfect for special celebrations, groups of friends or a family get-together. Surrounded by lawned gardens with seating areas and patio for al fresco dining, along with an eco-friendly underfloor heating system and open fire, this is an ideal house at any time of year. The village of Holme-on-Spalding Moor offers a convenient range of shops, pubs, restaurants and bakery. Should you wish to reach the village on foot, it is only a 20 minute walk via Rascal Moor. The area around the village is a maze of country lanes, perfect for walking and cycling. Being at the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds, this is a relatively undiscovered area which inspired the paintings of David Hockney. There are numerous attractions to visit including The Deep, a spectacular aquarium in Hull, and the Jorvik Centre and magnificent minster in York. The historic market town of Beverley is just a 20 minute drive and the coastal resorts of Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough along with the North York Moors are all easily accessible. Golf, clay pigeon shooting, fishing and horse riding are available locally and the owner is happy to share his extensive local knowledge, giving advice on walks, cycle routes and nature reserve locations. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
Holidaymakers, couples and family bookings only.

Well equipped and furnished. Helpful and friendly owners. Plenty of space inside and out. Table and chairs outside would be useful. Directions were spot on. Would definitely recommend.

The house was ideal for a large family get together of thirteen adults and two toddlers. The photographs of the interior of the house did not do it justice - the house was well decorated and very clean throughout with a large well equipped kitchen. The massive dining room easily seated everybody for family meals. There were plenty of bathrooms with good water pressure and hot water at all times. The hosts Gordon and Jill provided clear information before our visit and were very helpful and welcoming throughout our stay. There are plenty of places to visit locally and lovely walks from the house located on the working arable farm. The outdoor space was ideal for garden games. None

Accommodating hosts. Excellent outdoor space around the cottage. Plenty of space inside the house, big kitchen with plenty of storage in it. If any small criticism the main living room is on the small side if the house is full. Enjoyed the week there…
