The spacious lounge shares the same wonderful outlook and has a wood-burning stove, perfect for warming up beside after a day spent exploring the island. A selection of family games offers entertainment for quieter evenings, while the card table is also an ideal place to complete one of the cottage’s jigsaws as you watch the changing light, passing ferries and activity across the bay.
Several lovely walks can be enjoyed close to the cottage. Visit the enchanting Rha Waterfalls, where the River Rha tumbles through a wooded gorge, or follow the peaceful Uig woodland walk. South Cuil and the local trig-point routes reward walkers with far-reaching coastal and hill views. From Uig, guests can also enjoy the approximately four-mile walk to the magical Fairy Glen, a distinctive landscape of miniature hills, grassy cones and winding paths.

Explore the atmospheric ruins of Duntulm Castle, dramatically positioned above the sea, or visit the extraordinary Quiraing rock formations. Farther south, the iconic Old Man of Storr provides one of the island’s most recognisable views.
There is plenty more to discover farther afield. Walk to the crystal-clear pools and waterfalls of the Fairy Pools, admire the cliffs and sweeping sea views at Neist Point Lighthouse, or spend a day exploring historic Dunvegan Castle and its beautiful gardens. Portree, Talisker Distillery, Coral Beach and the Cuillin mountains are also within reach. Closer to the cottage are a few good restaurants but you are advised to book in advance.
