The open-plan living and dining room is decorated in restful green tones and offers a choice of comfortable seating, a Smart TV and a contemporary electric fire for cosy evenings. A dining table sits to one side, while French doors open onto a small, enclosed courtyard with outdoor seating; perfect for summer drinks. The modern kitchen is exceptionally well equipped, featuring an induction hob, electric oven, air fryer, coffee machine, washing machine and dishwasher. A convenient WC completes the ground floor. Cottage style stairs lead to a walk-in shower room, one elegant double bedroom and one inviting twin bedroom. Both bedrooms feature luxury soft furnishings and their own Smart TVs.
Racecourse Cottage is only a five minute walk from the thriving centre of Beverley, making it easy to leave the car behind and explore this characterful market town on foot. Wander through its cobbled streets, browse an excellent collection of independent shops and stop for coffee, lunch or dinner at one of the many cafés, pubs and restaurants. When evening arrives, discover Beverley’s lively music scene or enjoy a performance at the East Riding Theatre.
No visit is complete without seeing magnificent Beverley Minster, one of the town’s best-known landmarks. For fresh air and open space, head to Beverley Westwood, where wide grassy pastures provide a wonderful setting for walking and picnics. The Westwood is also home to Beverley and East Riding Golf Club and sits beside Beverley Racecourse, making the cottage a particularly convenient base for a day at the races. Beverley Polo Club is just a short drive away, offering another memorable local experience.
Further afield, the traditional seaside town of Hornsea is around a 25 minute drive away. Enjoy a stroll beside the sea, breathe in the fresh coastal air and treat yourself to fish and chips. Walkers and cyclists can venture into the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds, a peaceful landscape of unspoilt rolling hills, quiet lanes and scenic trails. The Yorkshire Wolds Way National Trail also passes close to Beverley, providing plenty of opportunities for rewarding days outdoors.
For a cultural afternoon, visit Burton Constable Hall or Sledmere House and Gardens, both of which host seasonal activities and events alongside their historic interiors and attractive grounds. Beverley also places you within easy reach of the coast, countryside and many of East Yorkshire’s most appealing attractions.
After a day of shopping, sightseeing, walking or cycling, Racecourse Cottage is a fantastic luxury retreat to return to each evening.
