A welcoming location which lived up to its name. A good base to explore the area. Only minor negative was that we couldn't find many places to eat out - or they weren't obvious. Woukd definitely go again.

The cottage "Quiet" was very clean, comfortable, welcoming and a real "home from home." It certainly lived up to its' very appropriate name! The owner kindly left us lots of homemade goodies during the week which also made us feel very welcome and were much appreciated. There is a good choice of places to eat and places of interest in the area.

Lovely peaceful and restful setting. Cottage appropriately named!! Ideal location for exploring the Southern reaches of the county. Lots of beautiful scenery, good roads, open countryside and scenic coastal routes. Good for lovers of the outdoor e.g. walkers and bikers, and those interested in nature. The locals were friendly and welcoming. The Dumfries and Galloway area is a real jewel in Scotland's crown!

Not such a good place to take your dog as no freedom to run around (working farm).

Our 6th holiday in Quiet - shows how much we enjoy it! Welcome was as warm as ever and Mary's offerings of tablet and cakes during the week were much appreciated.

A wonderful cottage with a warm welcome from Mary, we loved the cottage and Mary's home baking. The only issue was that track from the road to the cottage. Potholes and after rain, muddy puddles made it less than a joy to drive it.
