Perched right on the cliff top with fantastic sea views and a sandy beach just 50 yards away, Puffin Burrow is an ideal seaside retreat for two.

Just 50 yards from a sandy beach on the water’s edge, with an uninterrupted view of Portmellon Cove, this sheltered, south-facing and cosy 18th-century cottage (right hand, white cottage below balcony in photograph) enjoys a suntrap setting above the water. The coastal road winds through the quiet port of Portmellon, and Puffin Burrow is only 50 yards from the local inn and within walking distance of the delightful harbour, restaurants and pubs of Mevagissey. The legendary Lost Gardens of Heligan are 2 miles away. Ideally situated for the Eden Project. Fishing is also available nearby. Shops ½ mile.

Fantastic little cottage, small but cosy. Perfect for someone travelling alone or a couple. Stunning location in Portmellon cove with great views of the cove and out to see. Cottage has everything you need. Only thing is lack of wifi, but it obviously wouldn’t stop me staying here. I’m certain I will be back again on one of many return trips to Portmellon.

This was the most amazing cottage, it was clean, comfortable, well stocked, it was tricky driving through Mevagissy so if you are less confident take the long way round, there is a pay and display carpark nearby, ( no 'onsite' parking), this was less than a fiver for a 24 hour period. The views alone were worth saying in all day for, but if you want to go out there are plenty of lovely places to visit.

Location and views were lovely. The cottage very much needs updating and the standard of cleaning needs to be better.

What a stunning location for a cosy holiday cottage. We sat in the spring sunshine watching seals in the bay whilst enjoying a glass of wine! We swam off the rocks below the cottage in clear blue water and had many wonderful cliff top walks around the beautiful coast.

We had a great time at Puffin Burrow and would go back. Saw the seals along the coast path, cottage was perfectly equipped and just right for our needs. The loo seat needs sorting out, it wont stay up!!

It depends what you mean by local amenities! There were none - the pub was only open (we were out of season) on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and there was no shop but honestly such a stunning place, we couldn't have asked for anything more. Mevagissey was 1 mile away and we walked there most days. The SW Coastal Path was on the doorstep. The beach was superb and the dog loved it when the tide was out. We didn't want to leave. It was the best holiday house and location we have stayed in. Oh and we saw 9 seals basking and 2 swimming. LOVED IT!
