Meanwhile, the cottage provides welcoming holiday accommodation all year round for two couples or a family of four.
This 17th-century cottage is perfectly located in the picture-postcard village of Kettlewell within the lovely Yorkshire Dales National Park. Surrounded by a stunning backdrop of hills, the walking is superb straight from the door, with strenuous walks up the hills, or gentle strolls along the River Wharfe. The small garden has a terrace with garden furniture, and beautiful views over the Wharfedale hills and stone walls. The nearby river is an ideal place for picnics in summer. Grassington is a short drive away, with its winter Dickensian Festival as well as the 15-day summer Grassington Festival. The market town of Skipton, voted as one of the top 10 places to live (Sunday Times 2016), is approximately 16 miles away. With three pubs in Kettlewell village, all offering food from bar snacks to restaurant-quality food, as well as cafés and a thriving, well-stocked village shop, you are spoilt for choice. Shop 300 yards, pub 200 yards.

This is a lovely cottage in a great location to explore the Yorkshire Dales. The welcome pack was much appreciated and the wealth of information about both the cottage and the local area. The village shop caters for most immediate needs and the food in the two local pubs is fine. The cottage is tastefully and comfortably furnished and cosy, important on those occasional damp and chilly days. Our only concern was the steep spiral staircase - this is referred to in the details so we were forewarned - and we are sure it is no problem for younger guests (we are in our late 70s and not quite as agile as we used to be). It was a lovely base for our holiday and we would highly recommend Prospect Cottage.

A well appointed accommodation in a pretty village setting in a beautiful part of the Yorkshire Dales. The kitchen was well equipped, the lounge comfortable and it was nice to have a choice of a bath or shower.
