This property is part of our English Country Cottages collection

An inspiring collection of properties chosen for their character, luxury and heritage, all graded 4 star and above.

This property combines modern amenities with traditional and beautiful features, making it a very welcoming place to be.

Escape to the countryside of Kettlewell, situated in the natural beauty that is the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Combining both contemporary and traditional features, Prospect Cottage has been carefully and comprehensively designed and furnished, leaving a welcoming and cosy place to call a home away from home. This 17thcentury cottage incorporates some of its original features, with a twisting stone staircase, wooden beams and stone-mullioned windows adorning the walls. Sit out in the terraced garden and admire the stunning views of the Wharfedale hills and scattered stone walls. The garden offers an element of relaxation as you breathe in the fresh country air. Venture out into the breathtaking landscape on one of the many hill walks which start right from the front door. If you fancy a change of pace, you can always take a stroll down by the river, which also happens to be the perfect place for a picnic. Back at the cottage, make the most of the stylish facilities that are available; throw a log on the wood burner and put your feet up while you enjoy your favourite TV show on Netflix using the Smart TV. Or if you’re more of a music enthusiast, connect to the Bose sound bar and play a few of your favourite tunes. Head up the old stone staircase to the first floor, and find the two wonderful bathrooms and bedrooms, making it an ideal getaway for families or two couples. The chic bathrooms, each with traditional style roll-top bath, allow you to have a long soak after a day of adventure. Or, if you still want to enjoy the view of the magnificent Wharfedale hills, then why not take a gander out of the bedroom window on a comfy window seat. Just one of the many relaxing, home comforts you will find at Prospect Cottage.

This was our 3rd visit to Prospect Cottage and it was as brilliant as the previous years! A true home from home with wonderful countryside (and pubs!) on your doorstep. Couldn’t wish for more.

A really great holiday cottage situated in a lovely Yorkshire village. Prospect Cottage has been beautifully renovated and the addition of quality interior furnishings make it a truly lovely place to spend your holiday. The owner’s attention to detail is second to none and weather permitting you can sit in the garden and soak up the peace surrounding you. There are loads of information leaflets and details of a variety of walks provided so you’re never short of something to do. The village has great amenities and the surrounding Dales offer wonderful scenery, lovely villages, great places to eat and very friendly people. Would highly recommend a holiday at a Prospect Cottage.

Response on behalf of the owner; Very many thanks for such a positive review - we’re glad you like it as much as we do. We’re staying just after you - doing a bit of rose pruning and getting ready for the fine weather.

Beautifully and tastefully renovated cottage with lots of modern equipment and the most comprehensive folder of information / instructions we have ever seen. Loved the old stone - mullion windows, window seats, helical stone staircase. Wonderful location for two couples on a walking holiday with some fabulous walks from the door (thanks for the the very useful folder of walks) and three great pubs in the village for evening meals. The scenery is stunning - those wonderful vivid green fields with lovely dry stone walls. Everything you could need for a perfect stay except a teapot for four!

Absolutely lovely cottage, in a great location. Good to have a parking spot (very hard to find in Kettlewell). The cottage was very well equipped and has been decorated to a very high standard in true country cottage style.
