Come and stay in this delightful stone built traditional Welsh cottage set in one of most picturesque hamlets in Pembrokeshire, the historic fishing village of Trefin. Preswylfa lies just a stone’s throw from the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park footpath where you can discover the picture postcard coves and cliffs of this rugged and sublime North Pembrokeshire coastline. This location is perfect for family days on the beach, with Whitesands Bay close to St Davids (ideal for building sandcastles), and Aberfelin is just a short walk away, where your family can play in rock pools and uncover crabs, shrimps or if you are lucky, a starfish. After a busy day on the beach, relax with an evening meal in the local pub which is a short walk from your cottage.
Preswylfa, an end of terrace cottage, has been thoughtfully restored to retain many of the original features and charm. In the evening you can get away from it all and relax in the dining area with a good book in front of the cosy wood burner or enjoy a family evening in the living room with exposed beams and slate floors. You can take in the evening air and watch the world go by in the courtyard with a glass of wine overlooking the village square.
A trip to Trefin is not complete without visiting the city of St Davids a short drive away, the most westerly point of Wales, and Britain’s smallest city. St Davids Cathedral is the final resting place of Saint David, Wales’ patron saint and next to the cathedral, you can also visit the 13th century Bishops Palace, a truly magnificent sight. Travelling south, Newgale Beach is 10 miles away and is famous for water sports, here you can surf, kayak, swim or you may prefer a quiet early morning stroll. Inland you can visit the market town of Narberth with its many galleries, café and craft shops and for a family day out, a visit to the award-winning Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo, Oakwood Theme Park or Heatherton World of Activities is sure to keep everyone entertained. Beach 500 yards. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant 50 yards.
