Visit England ROSE award winner 2017
This superbly restored, former estate stone cottage offers excellent terraced holiday accommodation in the heart of the village of Brantingham opposite the village pond and green. It has modern internal features, including high speed fibre broadband, a bespoke kitchen, feature brick barbecue, patio furniture and sun umbrella for an al fresco meal, sofa bed (for alternative sleeping only), and an oak staircase, leading to galleried landing with a desk and views of the village green. It has quality oak furniture, and furnishings created with the help of an interior designer. The property also has special lighting, underfloor heating downstairs and in the bathroom, and provides a lovely base to explore the area from or simply relax in. Luxury toiletries, bathrobes and bed linen are also provided. It benefits from a south-facing garden with built-in barbecue and it is only a short walk to the village pub and restaurant. On arrival, guests will receive a hamper of local produce to help them settle in. At Christmas time, it is decorated for that festive cheer.
The owners offer customers free sessions with their dog at Hunsdale Fields, which is a 3 acre field for your dog to run free.

You might never want to leave the village, but if you do, there is plenty to do in the local area, including Beverley with its cobbled streets, racecourse, minster and courtyards. Hull is only 12 miles away, with its 2017 City of Culture status, museums, Humber Bridge, Hull Truck Theatre and The Deep aquarium. Hull University is only 13 miles away, making Pond View Cottage ideal for parents visiting their children, taster weeks and graduation. Further afield there is Burton Constable Hall, Castle Howard, North York Moors and Xscape Yorkshire (which boasts the country’s biggest real snow slope). York, with its minster, Shambles, museums, nearby Yorkshire Air Museum and boat trips, is 28 miles away. Cyclists and walkers will love the rolling hills and many established walks, including the Yorkshire Wolds Way and Coast to Coast cycle route, which are accessed from outside the door. For those that enjoy a game of golf, Cave Castle, Brough and Hessle golf courses are nearby. Metal detecting (on private land) and fishing can be arranged. Shop ¾ mile, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

Large living room with wood-burning stove and wooden floor. Large kitchen/dining room with gas/electric range (for cooking), coffee machine and wooden floor. Separate toilet. Oak stairs to first floor: Galleried study area with views of village green. Double bedroom with 5ft bed. Single bedroom. Bathroom with free standing bath, separate shower cubicle and toilet.

A well presented cottage which provided a comfortable base for our holiday. The hosts were thoughtful in assembling a lovely hamper with local treats, and it was really nice to have salad, veg. and fruit as well.

By far the nicest cottage we have stayed in, and fantastic for us that they allow a dog. Very generous hamper of goodies, home-made and home-grown produce, we felt really spoilt. Cottage is immaculate and comfortable with a spacious well-equipped kitchen, in a great location for visiting towns in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire and surrounded by beautiful countryside and walks from the door. A lovely enclosed south facing garden with seating, with a sitting area out the front to catch the last of the evening sunshine overlooking the village green. Great pub down the road serving good food, and shop a short drive away. An added bonus of very kind and caring owners who could not do enough for us while never intruding. We can't wait to return.

This was our second visit to Pond View Cottage and every bit as good as our previous stay. The owners maintain a very high standard and we hope to be spending more time at this cottage in the future.

Myself and my partner had a lovely few days staying at the cottage. The village was beautiful, the people were very friendly but the highlight really was the cottage. It was immaculate and had everything we needed. The fridge was stocked with some lovely local produce on arrival and some personal touches made it extra special. Just round the corner was a very nice pub. We didn’t eat there but enjoyed a few drinks in the beer garden. Closely followed by a drink in the garden at Pond View as we were lucky enough to have a sunny week and it really is a sun trap, front and back! The small shop was only a short drive away and the supermarket just a bit further, perfect if you’ve forgotten tonic/lemonade for your gin! Highly recommend Pond View Cottage. Thank you Martin and Catherine!

Absolutely adored this cottage and the village. The welcime was the best ever with warm bread form the bread maker, home made produce, a fridge stacked with fabulous fresh veg and fruit. No skimping on dishwasher tablets, laundry things, bathroom products....really the best we've ever been to and will definately go again. Great base for some excellent walks too and a nearby garden centre doing good food, a lovely pub again with excellent food and a close garage selling everything you need without having to go to a supermarket including wines and beers at great prices.

The three of us had such a lovely time here! We were warmly welcomed but our privacy respected too. The owners made the cottage toddler friendly for us before we arrived and were greeted by the smell of freshly baked bread. Plenty to do and see within the area too. We can't recommend Pond View Cottage highly enough!

Myself and my partner have stayed in many holiday cottages before and I can say that Pond View Cottage is by far the best that we have ever stayed in. The cottage itself is total luxury, absolutely immaculate and an excellent place to relax– a wonderfully comfortable bed with beautiful pillows and linen, a modern bathroom with a free standing bath (a must for me) and a big shower, fresh & fluffy towels and Molton Brown toiletries. The kitchen was large and very well equipped with every mod con going including a double oven range. Living room was also large with two sofas and the decor was outstanding – it was particularly chilly outside when we visited so the log burning stove was a treat and we were delighted to find out the logs were included which most places make you pay for after you’ve used a few. Wifi was extremely fast. Patio garden was also lovely and I can imagine it would be excellent to sit out on on a warm sunny day. The view directly over the pond was beautiful and the village pub served great food. The added touches that Martin and Catherine included for our stay were unlike anything that we have ever come across before. Bread baking in a bread maker when you arrive so that you are greeted with the smell of freshly baked bread as you walk through the door, a hamper of Yorkshire-themed treats which we enjoyed throughout our stay, milk in the fridge and also a tray of local veg. We have never stayed anywhere that puts this much thought and care into their cottage, we can’t wait to return and have recommended it to all of our friends and family. Don’t hesitate to book this cottage!
