The children will love roaming the 3 acre garden and discovering the tree house - a magical setting for the perfect holiday.

Penrhiw Pistyll Cottages lie peacefully in a magnificent coastal position near the popular resort of New Quay, with its tranquil fishing harbour and golden beach. The former barns have been renovated into comfortable, semi-detached holiday accommodation and are set on 3 acres of land which overlooks the beautiful Victorian fishing village of New Quay. The cottages have been furnished to a good standard and offer comfortable furnishings, spacious living areas and kitchens with all the contemporary amenities. Guests are invited to stroll the gardens and enjoy the peaceful setting or sit back and unwind and enjoy the magnificent views over Cardigan Bay. On site in the communal area, guests have shared use of a plunge pool and sauna by arrangement, £30pw, open Easter - October.
Just a stone’s throw away lies the picturesque resort of New Quay which features a good selection of cafés, pubs and restaurants. A trip to the resort would not be complete without a memorable boat ride from the harbour along the dramatic coastline cruising close to rare seabirds, grey seals and bottlenose dolphins. Away from the resort, the local area has lots to offer with the sandy beaches of Llangrannog, Tresaith, Penbryn and Mwnt just a short drive away. The charming regency town of Aberaeron with its multi-coloured houses and attractive harbour is well worth a visit, as is the university town of Aberystwyth with its wide range of shops, national library and free museum. Also here you can take a trip on the picturesque Rheidol Valley Steam Railway to Devils Bridge in the nearby scenic mountains. Beach 1 mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

Lovely quiet location, but close enough to New Quay to enjoy the lovely beaches and the town. Steep walk to and from the town but manageable, approx 10 mins walk down and 20 mins steadily back. There are plenty of walks on your doorstep, the house is part of 'courtyard' and is a lovely place to sit out and enjoy the evening sun with a glass of wine and a bbq. In a morning there is plenty of activity with birds and squirrels. The main lawn area is across the courtyard with a picnic bench and views over New Quay. When we stayed we had sunshine every day, which made it even more perfect. The house has everything you can need and is kept clean. The main double bed was a little uncomfortable but thats the only niggle really. Will definitely return.

On the surface a lovely, well equipped cottage conveniently located for west coast Wales. Kitchen modern with all that you'd expect from utensils and crockery, etc. Lounge with two comfortable modern leather sofas, flat screen tv and very large dining table. Constant hot water - too hot actually and a danger for young children - and central heating which came on automatically when the temperature dipped. Bathroom with plenty of clean but thin towels and electric shower over bath. However, bedrooms need some refurbishment: mattresses overly soft - to the point of collapsing on the edges - single bed linen clean but very tired, double bed duvet cover new but fitted sheet so old that all elastication had gone and it slipped off the mattress nightly ending up in a scrobbled mess half way across the bed, chest of drawers in double room which didn't run on the runners and got stuck, etc. The cottage was advertised as having an enclosed garden but the fence has been removed so for dogs and children it is far from enclosed. There is no outdoor lighting after about 9pm so the last walk around with the dog before bed was difficult - different levels, tree roots, low walls, etc creating trip hazards - bring your own torch as none is provided! I understand that Angrephan cottage is now for sale so this may explain some of the inadequacies in refurbishing the upstairs to match the standard of downstairs.
