Oystercatchers is just a five-minute walk to the beach and next door to a very good fish and chip shop! There are also two amusement centres close by, perfect for children; and for the nature lovers, Oystercatchers is just 3 miles from Wild Ken Hill which is where Spring Watch is filmed! Located in Hunstanton, a charming Victorian seaside town with shops, pubs, cafés, and restaurants. Famous for its red and white cliffs and long stretch of sandy beach with low tide rock pools - and as it is located on the west coast, the sunsets are outstanding. A great place for walking, all year round. Known by the locals as “Sunny Hunny”, Hunstanton offers something for all, from family amusements and a small funfair, to a Sea Life Centre, plus an 18-hole golf course, bowling green and croquet lawns. The Oasis Sports Centre offers both indoor and outdoor swimming-pools and sports facilities. There are also boat trips to visit the seals on the Wash Monster. Old Hunstanton also boasts sandy beaches and sand dunes.
There is plenty to explore in the local area. Brancaster is just 8 miles away, a pretty coastal village with great sailing, and boats to the nature reserve. There are also RSPB nature reserves at Titchwell and Snettisham. Wells is also within easy reach. At Snettisham Deer Farm you can bottle feed lambs (at the right time of year), see farm animals and go on a deer safari. Watatunga Wildlife Reserve in Watlington offers a guided safari by a golf buggy! Take a trip to Sandringham House, the magnificent holiday home of the Royal Family since 1861, just a short drive away. Or head further inland, within an hour’s drive, to the Norfolk Broads National Park and the medieval city of Norwich, with an abundance of shops, fine dining and a castle museum to explore. Just 100 metres away is private pool hire (subject to availability). Within 0.2 miles are a beach and beach cafe, and Pitch and Putt is nearby. All within 1 mile are a supermarket, crazy golf, fun fair and a theatre (where Princess Diana took Harry and William to see a pantomine in 1988).
