This property is part of our Welcome Cottages collection

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

Owls Roost is a charming and cosy property in the much sought-after Aldeburgh. Ideal for those exploring the Suffolk Heritage Coast.

This cute detached cottage is decorated in a stylish and relaxing palette. Light and airy, you can watch the sun rise through the garden doors from the bedroom. The open-plan living area offers a contemporary kitchen and comfortable seating area. Located a 20-minute walk from the beach and in a quiet street, you can be assured of relaxed evenings. Enjoy breakfast in the private garden before seeking out all that this fantastic area has to offer. Perfect for relaxing in following a day of seaside, cycling, sailing, bird watching, or exploring local walks.
Aldeburgh is the home of British composer Benjamin Britten and remains a centre for the arts and literature with the Aldeburgh Music Festival, the Proms, an annual poetry festival, documentary film festival, exhibitions and galleries, food festivals and many other cultural events. Fresh locally caught fish can be bought daily (weather permitting) from the fishermen’s huts along the beach. It is a quintessential coastal town.
Designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this gentle and understated landscape, with its pubs aplenty, offers a day’s walking that can be rewarding and enjoyable. As well as coastal walks, the River Alde and surrounding areas can be explored by foot. Minsmere Bird Sanctuary lies just up the coast towards Southwold. The town of Southwold is ideal for visiting the famous Adnams Brewery, or just up the Sailors’ Path, following the River Alde, is Snape, famous for the Snape Maltings Concert Hall. The small historical Roman town of Aldeburgh is a cultural tourist destination. Shop and pub ½ mile, restaurant 1 mile.

All on ground floor: Living room/kitchen. 1 double (5ft 6in zip and link, can be 2ft 9in twin on request) bedroom with patio doors. Shower room with toilet.

Gas central heating (underfloor in shower room), gas, electricity, bed linen and towels included. 34" Smart TV. DVD. Gas hob. Electric oven. Microwave. Washing machine. Freezer. Wi-fi. Small enclosed garden with patio and furniture. Parking (1 car). Welcome pack. No smoking.

Perfect. Lovely accommodating host, at this wonderfully clean cottage. The white towels and bed linen were spotless and kitchen appliances and utensils like new. This together with the good weather and the quaint town centre of Aldeburgh within walking distance made for a fantastic holiday for us and our little dog.

This is my second trip here. It is ideal for me and my little dog to take a writing break. It is so comfortable, warm and peaceful that I happily recommend it.

Everything you need to enjoy your getaway. Go out to eat (plenty of places to choose from), or cook your own meals (there's everything in the cottage that you need and 2 supermarkets to pick up food from). A cinema and a summer theatre are there as well as plenty of shops to look at, not to mention the beach. It's the second time we stayed at Owl's Roost and thoroughly enjoyed it both times!

A lovely place, everything you need and more, lovely bed and bedding, lots of places to visit. Too far for us to walk to the beach but by car only takes a few minutes and if you drive past the car park right of town you can park on the gravel for free, two fish and chip shops that are both great, lots of places to eat and lots of sea food along the front. Shame that the beach is pebbles and not sand.

The property is well equipped and well maintained which made for a relaxing stay. It is well placed to explore Aldeburgh and the surrounding area and we would recommend it to couples with a dog looking for good quality, comfortable accommodation.

Never been to Suffolk before not sure why we missed it. Loved the cottage brilliant garden properly enclosed for a small escape artist unlike many other 'enclosed garens' listed on many cottage details. Lovely area in fact preferred Aldeburgh to Southwold. Came back fully relaxed.
