Fab cottage in an amazing location. Only slight downside is that it was a tad small for 4 adults and 4 teenagers. However, we were only there for 4 nights so made the most of the outside and the most gorgeous Beddgelert. We stayed over the New Years Period and went to the celebrations in the village. Wow, what a brilliant little community. We will definitely be back.

We were disappointed with this cottage, the best points were the location and the walks for the dogs. The cottage needs a lot of TLC , The garden is a joke you go out to it using a small door at the top of the stairs * be careful not to bang your head on the door * there is a very small decking area and a steep unsafe stairway leading to a seating area? We slept in the bedroom at the back of the cottage the bed is supported with wood underneath which made it uncomfortable and creaks every time you move, the window has a gap at the top which wouldn't close. Both drains in the bathrooms are blocked the shower tray filled with water so we took the drain filter out aargh filthy. worktops in the kitchen stained and burnt, the grate in the living fire broken and both sofas were like you sitting on the floor. The gate at the front? well there is one not very safe if for children and dogs. we paid extra for towels and bedding ( only used one bed ) there was a note asking us to strip the beds what a cheek. We booked at a reduced price thank goodness.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; The garden is as described in the cottage description. Unfortunately there is nothing I can do about the size of the door, the cottage dates back to the 17th century. The decking and steps are steep but safe, I had replacement work carried out on them earlier this year. The window in the bedroom does close but the cleaning lady leaves it open to prevent the cottage smelling musty. It is true about the bed, we do use wooden blocks to give it extra support, as people have previously broken the leg in the middle. I have brought to the attention of the cleaner about the drains. The kitchen work tops are sanded down and re-oiled every year, usually in November time. It could not be done before then as the cottage has been fully booked. I am in the process of ordering 2 new sofas and I will purchase a new fire grate. Most cottages ask you to strip the beds on departure, it is merely a request and guests don’t have to do it if they don’t want to. It's just helpful for the cleaner when they come in as they have a specific turnaround time to get the property ready for the next guests.

No idea the place was right alongside a busy main road, and parking was a minimum of 50 yards away. The garden as such did not exist, there was no BBQ, and the quality of the paintwork left a lot to be desired. Although it had 8 beds, the place was too small for 8 people, and small children certainly could not be left to roam unattended. The best bit, though was the idyllic 10/15 minute walk along the riverside into Beddgelert.

Great location, great cottage but rear garden area needs lots of TLC & repair! Also do not appreciate being asked to strip beds when leaving after paying extra money for the bedding!

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for the feedback. Garden has been attended to and repairs have made to decking and handrail, including new paint.
