Surrounded by 200 acres of peaceful Manx countryside, Cott Tramman—Elder Cottage—is a spacious 5-star Gold holiday cottage for four, beautifully converted from the traditional buildings of Old Lonan Church Farm. With far-reaching views towards Snaefell, it offers a wonderfully relaxing base for families, two couples or friends exploring the Isle of Man together.
The ground floor centres around a bright, open-plan kitchen, dining and living area, where uninterrupted countryside views create a calm and welcoming setting. Double doors lead onto a private furnished patio—ideal for enjoying breakfast outdoors or watching the evening light settle across the fields. A convenient cloakroom is also located on this level.
Upstairs, two characterful bedrooms feature vaulted ceilings and original exposed beams. Both rooms can be arranged with either double or twin beds, providing excellent flexibility for different groups. The family bathroom includes an indulgent spa bath and a separate shower, while bathrobes, slippers, USB charging points and underfloor heating add comfort throughout the stay. Guests also have access to the tranquil Garden Room, a light-filled space with an indoor fishpond, and the Barley Room games area, which has a pool table and can offer big-screen film nights by prior arrangement.
Within the farm grounds, take a peaceful stroll to historic St Adamnan’s Church, where ancient Celtic crosses reflect the area’s remarkable religious heritage. Further afield, nearby Laxey is home to the world-famous Great Laxey Wheel, the mine trail and the charming Manx Electric Railway. Continue by mountain railway to the summit of Snaefell for magnificent views across the island and surrounding seas.
The surrounding area is ideal for walking, with quiet country lanes, wooded glens and scenic coastal routes leading towards Garwick Bay and Ballanette Nature Reserve. Douglas is also within easy reach for its promenade, restaurants, shops, theatre and Manx Museum. Combining generous accommodation, excellent shared leisure facilities and a convenient countryside location, Elder Cottage is an outstanding choice for a memorable Isle of Man holiday.
