Peaceful location, cottage spacious but cosy at the same time. Private garden with fabulous hot tub!! The Thomas Wright pub served delicious food, no local shop near by so don’t forget anything but liked the stay so much going back in September. Durham only 15 mins away.

Wonderful cottage with some lovely little touches. Ester was very helpful. Hot tub was great. I would suggest a larger comfier sofa for the lounge but other than this is was great

Such a wonderful cottage, warm, inviting, the log fire and the hot tub were brilliant. We were surprised to find milk, wine, biscuits and other such warm touches upon our arrival. The owners are friendly. We would wholeheartedly recommend this place. A gem!

The cottage is beautiful and well presented. Really thoughtful touches by the owners with milk, Stilton and wine in the fridge plus tea, coffee and snacks. I’ve already booked to go back in the Summer and I’m looking forward to walking in the local area.

Lovely cosy cottage with everything you need to make your stay comfy. Well appointed kitchen. Comfy lounge with log burner. 2 very large bedrooms with comfortable beds. Bathroom is pleasant but the only down side is it’s downstairs. Nice little touches such as toiletries, dishwasher tablets etc plus plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits. Lovely, large hot tub and quiet setting

Brilliant 3 night stay! A personal touch from the owners of the wine, milk, biscuits, slippers & robes was really appreciated. The hot tub was the highlight for our New Years eve stay! Would recommend 10 times over.

Stayed over xmas with my daughter (age 10). Perfect location with easy access into Durham and local towns. With a great walk around the river. Very clean cottage and the owners had made sure trimmings were also up, which made us feel at home. Hot tub was fab as was the added bonus of slippers and dressing gowns. With welcome pack on arrival explaining all we needed to know. This is definitely somewhere I would recommend.

The cottage was faultless! Our only negative was the location. We did not expect a council estate to be right next to us and the only pub open was a working man's club!
