We stayed in Horseshoe Cottage in the middle of winter. The underfloor heating was wonderful and really warmed the house. Thermostats in each room were very useful. Beautiful location and a beautiful cottage. Well decorated with all you need, including a slow cooker! Welcome pack with 1 pint of milk and cookies provided when you arrive and some toiletries too. Showers have good water pressure. The showers are also spacious, more like a wet room but with a partial, solid screen, great for someone with decreased mobility, although there were no hand rails. In the cupboards in the bathroom we found a non-slip mat for the shower and extra toilet rolls too. Sofas are very comfortable but quite low. A selection of books, DVDs and some games also available for use. There is Alkham Valley Garden Centre nearby with a lovely café serving hot and cold food during the day, including vegetarian and vegan options. Kearsney Abbey, a few minutes drive away, is a nice park area for families and dogs, also with a café. Overall, a relaxing, peaceful few days away in a well thought out property with friendly owners who are very helpful and quick to respond if you have an issue.

A wonderful little cottage, very clean and considered. Lovely personal touches and kind extras like milk and cookies were a wonderful touch after a long journey too! The cottage has a wonderful view over the paddock which our children enjoyed too. All together a great comfortable stay :-)

We had a fantastic time and loved Horseshoe Cottage! Two good sized bedrooms and two great en-suites. Mark and Sue were very friendly and helpful, and thought of everything! Not too far from lots of things to see and do. Would definitely love to go back!

We stayed in Horseshoe Cottage in June 2018. Four adults and one dog. The cottage is beautifully furnished, spacious and very well equipped. The beds are the most comfortable I've ever had away from home. The showers are very big and water pressure is excellent but there are no grab rails anywhere in the bathroom. The kitchen has everything you need to cook for the family along with a wide range of crockery and glasses including baby bowl and drinking cups. The sofas are comfy but very low (the older couple in our party needed assistance getting up every time). WiFi was good. The garden is small but has enough room for table and chairs, sunloungers and barbecue. The horses in the adjacent field came to see us every day, our dog wasn't sure about them to start with but by the end of the week they were nose to nose. All in all great value for money, a very comfortable stay, would definitely recommend this cottage.
