Gill and Chris are a lovely couple. They were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Their home is spotless and located in a really picturesque spot with a well maintained pretty garden. We had everything we needed. The local pub was friendly and great for a meal on our first night. We had a wonderful time visiting local villages and beaches, especially beautiful Beer. If you are looking for a relaxing break, don’t hestitate in booking Oak Apple Cottage.

I want this review to be balanced and honest... Excellent cottage in a lovely location. The owners are superb and extremely friendly / helpful. Couple of things that could be improved on; a better mattress (very cheap/ uncomfortable), a fire glove, kindling and firelighters (very difficult to start a fire without them). Otherwise a definite 8/10 overall. The owners did say they'd never stayed in the cottage which I found odd, guys do a week to find the niggles and it'll be a sure 10/10.

Beautifully presented character cottage, ideal for those who want a rural retreat. Great for exploring the Blackdown Hills and relatively easy to get to coastal resorts of Sidmouth, Budleigh, Exmouth, etc plus Exeter and Dartmoor not far away. Hosts Chris and Gill very helpful and accommodating.
