Excellent cottage in a great location for local pubs & restaurants. But stairs could a challenge For the less spritely.

Cosy character cottage, furnished in traditional style, suiting the property. Spotlessly clean and everything you could need provided, including a welcome gift of tea, coffee and biscuits. Plenty to see and do in Beccles, many restaurants and pubs for wining and dining. Hosts, Sue and Chris, are friendly and helpful and always on hand if needed. They are full of local knowledge and can suggest things to do. An excellent retreat for a relaxing break.

The cottage was fine and in a very good location. The only problem is the heating. It is controlled from the owners house and when asked to switch it on during a cold March week, they did only to switch it off again. They claimed that an electric decorative fire in the sitting room was a convector heater but it gave out no heat. This meant we had a very cold and uncomfortable stay.

Response on behalf of the Owner; I’m so sorry, if only you’d said... The radiators in the annex all have adjustable thermostatic valves, and the switches for the heater in the sitting room are under the cover on the top of the stove.

We just needed a couple of days away and this was perfect. A beautiful little cottage, very quiet in a good central position for Beccles. Sue was a perfect hostess ensuring we had everything we needed.

This cottage dates from the 1500's, so does have low door ways, stairs that turn sharply, like climbing a clock tower, with a bedroom floor that is at a slope, but don't let this put you off. It has been well updated, keeping the charm of the old building. There is plenty of space for two people, the kitchen is a bit small, but we never cook hot meals when away on holiday, just snacks, so was plenty of bigger enough for us. The couple who own the annex, live next door & our helpful, not only about the accommodation but about the local area, walks, places to visit, local restaurants etc, with a selection of leaflets in the accommodation.
