Quaint little place, needs new quilt covers and pillows. A little bit of money spent on the cottage and it could be something special! Lovely setting, watching and listening to the birds and horses in the surrounding fields, lively dark nights looking at the hundreds of stars.

As expected the cottage was away from it all and set in beautiful countryside. The kitchen and shower had been recently replaced and were pleasant, worktops and white goods clean. The place was let down by the rest of the standards…dirty broken bin, tea towels, bath towels and cloths so old, dirty stained carpets and throws on the settee smelt horrible, and then worse was the bedroom! I can only say that the bedding was so bad we didn’t sleep on it! The pillows underneath the layers of covers were indescribable, brown and stained, must have been so old!! I can only hope that with a really good clean of the place and replacement of all bedding with some fresh new linen this would be a lovely quiet retreat to stay.

We had a really nice relaxing week at Nightingales, the Owners are about if needed, but inconspicuous if that is what you want, the lovely apartment has a new kitchen that isn't in the photos as yet, the walks around the paddocks and heath land are great, it's brilliant just sitting on the balcony and watching the wildlife. The area is great to explore, the local pub 'The Shepherd and Dog' does very good food, we found the 'The Sorrel Horse' about a mile away excellent for special meal. Visit Woodbridge while you are there, the river front is great and it has a 'Proper' high street. Shingle street beach and Orford only 8 miles away, there's enough to do from this base with out going very far.
