My favourite thing about this cottage was it's proximity to the National Park, with plenty of good walks available less than 10 miles away. Wooler, Alnwick, and Rothbury were all also 10 miles or so away. The cottage itself was very pleasant and good value for the price paid. One downside was that it is situated right next to the A697, and the noise of passing traffic at first disturbed my sleep (admittedly the bedroom window was open), but I think after a couple of nights I got used to it. The village is very quiet and it appears the local pub and shop are no more, although there is a service station with a shop.

A lovely cottage, with good facilities, needs more than a surface clean. A couple of basics missing like tea towels and loo bleach but able to purchase locally. Pretty good location although too noisy to have the windows open at night at the front due to the busy road. We used the house as a base and drove out each day to visit various locations in the area so didn't use the house much during the day

A lovely holiday home in a good location to explore Northumberland. The house had everything we needed as a family with a toddler and the village itself had a good playground.
