Myrtle Cottage is one of four cottages on this rural estate, accessed via its own private lane. It enjoys superb views from its elevated position to the sea below. The main living area is open plan, and this attractive room has large windows and patio doors that drink in the amazing views. At one end is the living area with leather sofas, and at the other end is a well-equipped kitchen with dining for up to four guests. There is a family sized bathroom on the ground floor with a spa bath with shower over. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, attractively furnished throughout, one with a double bed and one with twin beds. The walls are wood-lined with sloping ceilings.
There are wonderful walks direct from the cottage, which meander along the shoreline passing through sandy coves. The nearby beach at Achmelvich is simply stunning, with its white shell-sand bay and the emerald green sea of the Atlantic. The area is a haven for wildlife, with red deer, otters, seals, porpoises, Minke whale and numerous sea birds including black throated divers and osprey are all seen in the region. The nearby hamlet of Clachtoll has a small shop and café, whilst Lochinver, just 3 miles along the coast, has a larger selection of facilities. This pretty fishing village with its natural harbour has a good selection of restaurants, two pubs, small shops and cafés.
Sailing, canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking, hill-walking, fishing and climbing are all enjoyed locally. There are superb walks and climbs direct from the house and the dramatic peaks of Suilven, Stac Pollaidh, Canisp, Quinag and Ben More Assynt dominate the skyline of this wild and unspoilt Highland region.
