What we love

Description

Mountain Bear Lodge has that special quality that will make a large family’s or friends’ get together a memorable occasion.

This stunning, detached, timber clad lodge property enjoys a peaceful and private setting just a ½ mile outside the forest village of Nethy Bridge, and makes the perfect base for exploring this lovely part of the northern Highlands. The peaceful nature of the setting of the lodge is revealed in all its splendour – absolutely breathtaking. Sitting on the edge of the ancient Scottish Caledonian Forest, the lodge overlooks moorland and mountains with abundant wildlife which includes red squirrels, mountain hares, red and roe deer, and many species of song birds can often be seen from inside the lodge.

Mountain Bear Lodge has been equipped with state of the art appliances, stylish furniture and fabrics, along with North American Native memorabilia which blends superbly with the natural douglas fir logs and pine cladding of the lodge construction.
Nethy Bridge is just 12 miles from Aviemore which is situated in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park and at the head of the Speyside Way. The whole area boasts a super range of shops, restaurants and bars along with a very wide range of outdoor activities including skiing and snowboarding, mountain and quad biking, climbing and hill walking and a variety of water sports on Loch Insh, Loch Morlich and the River Spey to name just a few. Take a trip on the Cairngorm Mountain Railway and to the Cairngorm Reindeer Centre, the Highland Wildlife Park at nearby Kingussie, the Landmark Forest Adventure Park or the RSPB Reserve at nearby Loch Garten, all within easy reach.
Visit the testing Spey Valley golf course and the Dalfaber Resort with its wonderful array of leisure activities,or a day trip to the Moray coastline peppered with little fishing villages and beautiful beaches which have been voted in the top 20 the best coastline destinations in the world! For the less energetic, sit back in the hot tub set in peaceful garden grounds, relax and unwind. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

I could praise Mountain Bead Lodge enough. We had a weekend stay with 14 guests and everyone agreed that we would need to book again. You won’t be disappointed

The location was fabulous although the cleanliness of the lodge was very very disappointing...... clothes from the previous guest still in drawers wrapping paper Still under the bed, no proper checks done. . Dishwashers dirty and needed to be emptied on our arrival ( by us) dirty ovens, dirty pans glasses etc Property very tired compared to when we stayed before. Very disappointed, however good company made up for this

Could be a lovely place, but badly maintained. No instructions for any equipment, such as heating and hot water, items not working, cleanliness not good... paid a lot of money to stay here but unfortunately did not live up to expectations, cleanliness better at a travel lodge.

A great place for a family/friends holiday. Could do with some serving dishes and a few things weren’t working but don’t spoil our time there.

Absolutely a wonderful place. It's got a secure perimeter so no need to worry about the children or dogs going astray. No neighbours ? bliss. We had a large family holiday and filled all the bedrooms, but there was ample room for everyone especially in the main living room. The age range was from 3 yrs to 54 yrs old and everyone was catered for. Will definitely be going back
